Help! I got a D- in an online AP class first semester, so I already know the admissions staff is going to reread my application. My other grades have slipped a bit as well in both semesters, compared to my junior year. Am I definitely going to be rescinded? Anything I can do to avoid it when they ask for an explanation for my grades?
I think my essay helped get me in more than GPA or test scores, so maybe they will be kinder in regards to grades?
Would they accept some long explanation on how I’ve learned from mistake etc?
Any advice appreciated, even if it’s just I’m definitely not going to U of M next fall.
Thank you!
Will you be getting a better grade for your second semester? Try to to really put the pedal to the medal on your academics for the rest of your time in high school. You are at the point where you should be prioritizing grades over hanging out with friends, senior prom, etc.
Call admissions and talk to a counselor at Michigan. You don’t even have to give your name. If you did what you needed to get into Michigan in the first place you would be relaxing a bit now and should be a lesson for others readying this for next year.
