U of R Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion

Just got accepted! Anyone else hear back during this wave?

My daughter was admitted today

My son got accepted today for Cognitive Science at 3:00pm PST, we are in CA

How do we know if we got any scholarships ? where can I see that details

How did you find out the decision? Did you get an email or did you check the portal?

@Ineedoffers got a email at 3:00pm and then checked the portal

Thank you! I can’t find anyplace on the portal to check application status so I feel kinda weird

@phemrajani I think scholarship details come later

DD was accepted yesterday. She got an email at around 6:30 pm to check the portal. No news on merit aid, but we’re hoping for some aid. 34 ACT, many APs, etc…

YESSSSSS I found out last night
ACCEPTED: Biological Sciences - Molecular Genetics

IB classes
good essays (didn’t think they were amazing but good)
lots of strong ECs, Honors, & volunteer hours

I got accepted early Feb.
Biology

Almost a 93 weighted. Transcript shows an upward trend from freshman year.
Passed AP bio and psych.
Essays were good. Showed how I turned a hardship into one of my biggest motivations.
Many ECS and community service.

I hope my stats gave some of you hope. Good luck.

Also got accepted yesterday, received an email at around 6:30 pm MST // was surprised to hear considering official websites say RD release date is April 1.

Please did any international student receive his/her decision yesterday?

Any of those recieved acceptances today international student?

Hi…UofR is very expensive. If no merit and FA, is it worth full pay of $72K a year worth the money for BS biological degree? Even if one can afford to pay…

international here, received my rd decision yesterday but still waiting to hear from financial aid

@soledad2022 That is a very subjective question that each individual needs to contemplate. The answer will depend upon other acceptances/options and fit. It’s pretty akin to saying we have X dollars available for a house/car, etc. Do we want this one at Y price or that one at Z price?

I can say my guy loved his time at URoc and wouldn’t have wanted to go anywhere else in hindsight, but we weren’t full pay (and couldn’t have been). We did pay our contribution and don’t regret it one bit. He feels he received a great education - enjoying being able to select classes he liked, loved his multiple research opportunities, and generally enjoys Rochester. The only negative he has was their Pre-Health advisers being far less than stellar - giving him factually incorrect information. If going Pre-Med, he suggests getting better info online or from BTDT students. (He is in Med school now, but not due to his advisers!) Even with that experience he loves his school and doesn’t wish he had gone elsewhere. (He just wishes they would get folks who know what they are doing as Pre-Med advisers!)

Best wishes to you and your student with your decision.

Daughter has not heard back yet, with relatively stellar academics/resume.
ACT 35 / SAT 1540 / GP 3.80 UW / Pres. Scholar Cand.
Good EC’s / decent essay
AP’s (BC Calc.), etc.
Challenging coursework, etc.
Applied RD and is little bummed heard anything seeing posts on here.

Does anyone have info about the timing of the next wave of Decisions?

My daughter has the same stats just about…hasn’t heard anything either… I wouldn’t worry too much… who knows how they do this…
