U of Rochester or U of Texas-Agustin?

transfer offer, U of Rochester, U of Texas-Agustin both major in Econ.

U of Texas-Agustin still don't know how much credits can transfer, Rochester currently accepts 43 credits.

U of Texas-Agustin is cheaper, and the industries in Texas are good I think.
Rochester is cold, but good reputation I think.

Really need some advice, thank you so much!!

Well, small world. I’m a Economics (honors) and Math major at U of R. Even smaller world, I’m one of the undergrads involved in helping prepare transfer orientation at the university. I guess that makes me a little biased in this post, huh?

I’ve had a great experience at UR. I came here thinking I was going to be a Physics major, but then I took Eco 108 (principles of economics) and almost immediately changed my mind. I think that speaks a bit about the Econ department and how good the introductory teachers are. The upper level classes I’ve taken (I’m a junior, so I’ve taken more than a few) have all been taught by very, very knowledgeable professors. The Econ professors especially are very amiable and approachable.
At UR there is tons of student life on campus and it is very easy to get involved. It is also pretty easy to get a job (or find research opportunities) on campus if you wanted. One negative I guess is that it is a difficult school; you won’t be able to get by without studying.

If you have any more questions, I’d be happy to answer!

If you do choose UT, please know that Texans are sensitive to how their towns are spelled.

Both schools are great. One is much larger than the other.

nwbenj, Thank you so much, you make me love UR more!

Blueash, thank you for your tips, and can I ask what should I spell?

It is “Austin”, not “Agustin”.

Also ask on the College Search & Selection forum.
