Hi! I am in grade 12 and soon I will be applying for the University of Toronto for life science program. Reason is I have not taken any SAT 1 or SAT11s.
I want to know my chances of getting into Harvard through transfer after a year in U of T (mean while I will be getting ready for SAT)

High school GPA: 3.9
EC: executive member of student council
student representative for national bio technology conference
participated in harvard summer school program for biology
distance runner of cross country team
distance runner of track and field
flute player of school band
translator of student translator association

If my chances are low, what kind of other EC should I do to bring my chances up to max?
How much does university mark/ high school mark/ EC/ considered when considering for a transfer student?
Thanks

ur not going to get into harvard by finding an EC right now..its a little late to develop serious skills in something..those ECs come from lifelong dedication. instead, try to excell in the ECs you are alraedy doing

do really well on your SATs...at this point. your not harvard material yet but i'm DEF not an expert..this is just my guess..

??? i see nothing special about you.
unless you haven't listed the multiple Nobel prize you have received or your cure for cancer, i don't see how you can get in to harvard.
but grades are important, ECs are important(which you dno't have much)
how did you do at SSP? did you have Dr. Fixsen?
what's a 3.9? in %? are you from toronto?

if you want to go to harvard, you would have better (though not good -- no one really has GOOD) chances applying for freshman admission. most of the improvement it would be possible to make to your application while at U of T would be canceled out by how many fewer spots there are for transfer applicants.

nsped...usually maybe not lifelong but my point is he cant find an impressive EC and do it for 1 yr and expect it to be impressive...that is unlikely.possible but not likely

Sure he can. I did. I did not apply to Harvard, but an adcom commented on some of my accomplishments, and so did my professors and peers. It is not impossible, you just need to be pro-active and ambitious.

Chances are incredibly slim. You will have to do something truly exceptional your freshman year. You will have a better chance doing that and trying to transfer as a junior, but chances will still be very small.
