U of Wiscon- Bad no letter of Rec?

<p>Is it bad to not have any letters of recommendations? I took my last semester off and before that I was on a study abroad for a year. So I do not have many options. Should I get one of my study abroad teacher to write one even if it will be very general. I do not have personal relationships with teachers. Or should I just not send one at all?</p>

   Though not required, we would like to see at least one recommendation from someone who can attest to your collegiate academic ability. Other recommendations might come from an employer, coach, research mentor, or community leader. Remember that quality is better than quantity, and a total of two is sufficient.

<p>I read this as it’s highly recommended to send at least 1 LOR from an instructor. Send whichever academic LOR you think will be the strongest; and if you can, back it up with another one from a non-instructor that will help support your case.</p>
