UC and GPA

Does each UC consider your overall GPA or just your UC-transferable GPA? Like will they care if I got a B in a non-transferable course, which affected my overall GPA quite a bit. It was a 5 unit math course. I’m a Psychology major and plan on applying to UCSD, UCI, UCLA, and UCD.

Nope, they will not. I didn’t care about the courses that aren’t transferable as UCs won’t even look at how well you did on them.

You can get A, B or C, UCs don’t even look at them.

However, there is one thing to note.
It’ll affect your current college Cumulative GPA. You should do well on them, as there are scholarships and honors.

Okay good to know. So when they look at my GPA, will they be evaluating my GPA aside from that one non-transferable class? Like say I have a 3.73 overall GPA, and a 3.8 GPA which only includes UC-transferable courses, would they just be considering the 3.8?

Yeah, when they calculate the GPA, they calculate with transferable courses. You don’t have to worry about non-transferable courses at all.

Oh good. That makes me feel so much better. Thanks!

Transferring to UC Berkeley as Math (Applied) major?
I’m applying this semester from a CC, and most likely my gpa will be around 3.82. Only thing concerning me was the B I got in Calc 3. Would that significantly lower my chances? Not related but I got all As in my compsci classes(since I was doing computer science first), also IGETC is done by spring.
