I plan to transfer for fall 2013 to either ucla or ucb from umass-Amherst, majoring in anthropology. I had some questions about the minimum transfer reqs as well as the major prep requirements.

1) for the transfer reqs, it says I have to finish 2 courses in English composition/critical thinking and writing. I tested out of English 111(basic writing) and skipped to English 112 (college writing). Does this qualify for meeting the 2 transferable English courses even though I only took one bc I tested out of the level 1 English course?

2) the anthropology prep requirements for ucb (ba) are different for ucla (bs). Do I have to finish all the prep reqs before transferring? Working out my schedule for this next year, I should have stats and calc 2 left to take to completeye ucla anthropology bs reqs. Would it be better to take those math courses over the actual anthropology core courses?

3) can I possibly take the anthropology major preparations reqs (either anthropology classes or stats or calc 2) in the spring of 2013? Or is that looked down upon?

Thank you for all the help!
