UCLA Anthropology (B.S) Transfer Requirements

So I'm currently attending a junior college with a major in Anthropology. I chose to do a B.S because I have a passion for the sciences and really would like to incorporate that into my studies in Anthropology. I want to transfer to UCLA in a couple years. The problem is that I seriously doubt I'll be able to complete all the prerequisites for my major. (Transfer Major Prep - Anthropology (B.S.) - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions)

Biology and chemistry classes are nearly impossible to get into here. Most of the students at my college are nursing students, so EVERYONE is trying to get into those classes. I have friends who have literally been trying for years to get into those classes without luck. I read on UCLA's site that it's preferable that I finish as many of the prerequisites as possible. Will not having finished those biology and chemistry courses hurt my chances of getting accepted? Is there a way I can sort of explain to the school that I can't finish them where I am and just do them at the university?

Have you tried to find those courses at another CC close by? I think the UCs said that if your CC doesn’t have a required prerequisite then they’ll take one from any CCC.

Apply as a BA and if admitted you may switch to BS. The Anthropology Dept will allow the switch without hesitation. If you don’t believe me, just email Ann Walters or Eric (staff).

You should still try to complete as many science courses at the CC level since they’re probably a bit easier.

Credibility: I’m a UCLA Anthro graduate.

Like smurray09 said, try and take it at a near by CC. It is important that you take as many prerequisites as possible.
