Hi! So, I’m applying for UCLA and UCB business econ and was wondering whether UCs only look until fall grades or will also look at our spring grades (the spring right before transferring - ie. applying UC 2021, Spring 2021)?
Was wondering bcs jic I got a B in calc 2, my GPA for fall will only be 3.85 but will move up to 3.89 in spring.
If I get an A (pray for me pls), I’ll have 3.92 GPA by fall and 3.93-3.94 by spring.
I also am active on campus, VP of a club I created, honors program, clubs, honor societies, student government, etc.
What are my chances either way? with the b and the a?
Your decision will be based on your GPA after the January TAU update so grades through Fall semester/Fall and Winter Quarter. Spring grades will be reviewed after your acceptance for completion of your planned courses and to maintain your provisional admission.
@Gumbymom, unless they changed the rules, I don’t believe that is accurate. Historically they’ve only calculated GPA through fall, although at each UC’s discretion they may take winter grades “into consideration.” Including winter quarter into the GPA calculations puts those with semester terms that end in fall at a severe disadvantage.
@Ohm888: Thank you for the clarification. I thought that since the TAU deadline was end of January, Fall semester/Fall & Winter quarter were part of the calculated GPA for admission consideration. My mistake.
