UC Application Question

On the University of California application I selected to insert yearly grades because that is what my school lists on the transcripts. Some of my classes only lasted a semester, but I cannot choose to insert just a semester grade.
I read the FAQ, but cannot seem to find what I am looking for. Does anyone know what to do? I hope this makes sense.

I don’t know, but if your school offers semester courses, then it doesn’t do yearly grades. Why not select semester and enter the grades there.

I would do either of these. 1)List by semester grades or 2)if you choose to list by yearly grades put in the additional information to explain that such courses are only for semester grades.

On the transcript it lists the yearly grade for year long courses and semester grade for the semester courses. It doesn’t have a semester break down for the year long courses.
Thank you for the idea to list it in the additional information. I would not have thought of that.

We (think) we figured this out.

One option in the grade section is “not offered”, “NO”. So if the course was offered first semester but not second, you enter your grade for first semester and the “NO” option for second semester. Then for the second semester course you enter “NO” for first semester and the grade for the semester you took the course. I can’t remember exactly what the options look like on the web site, but I think you will figure it out when you look at it again. So you end up using 2 lines for the courses:

AP Econ A+ NO (offered 1st semester)
Knitting NO D- (offered 2nd semester)

Oops, I just re-read your post and my answer doesn’t help you… sorry

Alright, I’ll let you know if I find the answer

Ask your guidance counselor. Assuming you are in CA Someone at your school ought to know how to fill out the UC app.
