UC Application questions. YOUR income? Date moved to CA? Only 12 APs?

I was looking at the application for the UCs and I noticed some strange stuff.

First, it asked for the amount of income of my parents. Next to it was a box for my own income. What’s that supposed to be? Like if I have a job? If I don’t have a job, would that be $0?

Second, it asks for the month, day, and year that you started living in California. I moved here in '92, how am I supposed to know the exact date?

And what’s up with their boxes for the AP tests? There are only 12. I’m planning to take 14, so what do I do?

Plus, I didn’t see a couple things like I had expected. I heard that there was a box to check if you did the COSMOS summer program, and also I was expecting a line for any publications.

Here was what I was looking at:

Is it different if you apply online or something?

I can't answer all your questions, but I'll try.

For the date moved to California thing, I just estimated my date. At least get the year right. I had no documentation to back it up so...it's not auditable...

As for the AP test section, I cannot help you there. The application online might limit your number of AP tests also. If I were you, I would try to send it in by paper with an extra page for AP tests.

Good luck in your admissions.

Oh yea, mark YOUR income as 0$ if you don't work.

^ Thanks for the clarification. :)

the UC application has a section at the very end after the personal statement where i think you can put anything that you couldn't on the app cause space limits.so put your aps here. just estimate the date moved to cali. and the income part is optional so you dont even need to put any of the incomes at all. hope this helps. also they have workshops at ccc's where they go over the application process for the uc's.you should maybe check it out. cause it helped me a lot. goodluck.

CCCs?

And what about COSMOS and publications?

California Community Colleges.
