For everyone asking about financial aid, I got an email from Cal yesterday saying the conditional offer was available. I went to Cal Central and logged on with the MAP email and password. I found my aid on there.
@lovelyyliz Yas Liz!! So excited to be future bears
@cato8794 Yup, you SIR through Cal Central!
@lovelyyliz @doihaveashot2016 I can’t find either my SIR nor financial aid! Someone help me :(.
@quanaucb My major GPA was a 3.284…, cause I got 3 Bs out for the 4 pre-reqs for my classes…pretty low, I know… But UCB takes a hollistic review, so I guess my ECs stood out
@doihaveashot2016 You SIR’ed already as well? Awesome! Also, how were you able to access your financial aid? I still haven’t been able to and I already have a Cal Central account, a Berkeley email address, and all of that.
Hey y’all! After weeks of silently keeping up with this thread, thought I would finally join in. I was accepted to both Berkeley and LA as a Sociology major, and after two years of having my heart set on UCLA, I now have to come to terms with the fact that UC Berkeley is probably the better option. So I’m planning on flying up there next weekend to check out the campus.
Has anyone signed up for the bridges’ Transfer Weekend program that’s taking place next weekend? It appears to be a limited space sort of thing, and it’s all expense paid and I’m really really hoping I get selected for it. If not, I’ll probably just book a plane ticket and go check out the campus on my own.
@lovelyyliz I think creating the cal central through the summer app affected us in terms of seeing our financial aid haha. Oh well, time to wait…
@CalPlease do you think its why we can’t see our financial aid? The school sent us an email and said they were aware that the FA page was not coming up though.
@lovelyyliz Congrats!!
How do you create a cal central ID and get the Berkeley email? @lovelyyliz
If any of you want to be shown around campus (after finals week, lol) or just want to meet up and chat, feel free to get into contact with me! I’ll be around for most of the summer. If any of you want to add me on Facebook, private message me on here.
@futurelawyer88 Yeah, I got the email as well. And I am very confident that is the reason because I have a friend that applied as well, but she wasn’t confident in getting in. Therefore, she did not bother to stalk people here ( like I did haha), so she didn’t create a cal central account and just waited for admission to come out. Well, she got in and her financial aid showed under the “My Finances” tab.
Yet I am sure we’ll get it no later than Tuesday. For now, just send your SIR :).
@thepalmtrees I am hoping to be chosen for that trip as well. If you do get it, please let us know!
Since this thread is still active, can you guys help me really quick? I’m a future student who wants to transfer to UCLA next year, but a C, in a non major class, is really messing up my gpa. Do you guys think that UCLA, or any other UC, will ignore it or not take it too heavily?
@Lesbehonest I had one C in my pre-req class but I got in to both schools. However, I made up for the compensation by having a upward grade trend after that incident.
@bigvoot Alright sick. Yeah, this was like 2 years ago and I’ve been getting straight A’s at the community college I’m at right now. Thanks.
@Lesbehonest good luck fam!
Just posting to let people know my stats. I was accepted to Berkeley for chemistry, missing 2 classes, and had a 3.49. My essays were extremely well written. I had a C in my first semester organic chemistry. All my counselors told me I wouldn’t get in but I proved them wrong, you never know so just apply!!! Good luck and congratulations to everyone!
Is anyone able to view their financial aid? I can’t view mine.
