Same! lol I called like 40 times yesterday. Yes we are screwed.
Bridges is only sent out to transfer applicants who qualify for 2 categories of underrepresented students. They seek to (from their site):
Empower underrepresented, students of color to pursue opportunities for post-secondary education
Provide support for newly admitted first year, transfer, as well as continuing and re-entry students of color
Increase cross-cultural dialogue and solidarity, cultural awareness, and political mobilization
Acquire the financial, institutional and physical resources to facilitate the work of member organizations
I was invited to rsvp because I am a low income and independent student, and because I am a transfer. Hope this help clear up the bridges invite!
@cgtrinh Yup, on the registration form it stated that registration would close on May 1st. Are you going to attend if selected?
@LandUseLaw the official RSVP hasn’t been sent out yet, those should be sent out tomorrow
@CalPlease @LandUseLaw screwed how? They aren’t going to rescind acceptance because we goofed up. From what others have said on this thread when they called, it may take up to a week to sort out. Are you in a rush to make a decision with other universities? If not, hang tight, we got this!
@CalPlease lol just keep on calling honestly, that’s what I did yesterday. Nope, we’re not screwed. The lady who I spoke to yesterday said that everything should be fixed within a week and that nothing is going to affect us.
Have you RSVP’d, like been given a place to go for sure? Or have you just accepted the invitation through MAP@Berkeley like the rest of us?
Because it said that there were not enough spaces for everyone invited to actually go.
@LandUseLaw just accepted the invite like everyone else, I haven’t yet heard back. They did give me a phone call reminding me to RSVP though…not that it means anything one way or another. Let’s all keep each other posted when we hear back!
@lovelyyliz I live in Berkeley so I did ask if I could join during the day. I won’t be staying at the hotels overnight though.

@lovelyyliz @ariellibelly Thank you, both for the reassurance. I am not in any rush, I have declined all of the other campuses, thus I am ‘fine’. I am just very anxious because I can’t get anything done due to my “Summer” Status. Also, did everyone else transition from the PRE-SIR to STUDENT-NOT-REGISTER ?
okay so idk if anyone else got an email about financial aid through there berkeley email but it told me to go look at cal central to see my aid award and its weird because when i refresh the finances page i can see it pop up in the middle for a split second, is this happening to anyone else?
@ucvalerieames
I did get an email stating that but it was because I’ve been selected for fafsa verification so it’s telling me to look at that message in financial aid. Little do they know of the technical issues I’ve been having, like many of you, that prohibit me from looking at it. Fortunately there is also a financial aid blurb in the cal central main feed on the right that allows me to see the issue. I’d try looking at that if I were you.
@ucvalerieames I got the same message and I see what you mean about financial aid popping up on refresh and disappearing.
anyone know if we can get our admission officer to talk to us on the phone?
@amunroeee Your SIR was most likely waived. You should be able to check your MAP account in a day or two and it will say: “Welcome! We’re glad that you have chosen to join us at UC Berkeley! NEXT STEPS”
At least, that is what mine said AFTER I SIR’d
@plsacceptmeUCs go to the berkeley academic guide. Then you should have a tab that offers to lead you to your major. I’m sorry idk how to explain this well
I got an email from financial aid today saying there were additional documents I needed to turn in for it to be completed. And to check this in cal central but I’m unable to even view my financial aid. And it was completed for all the other schools I applied to so now I’m just super confused.
Asking again–I requested to join the community page on Facebook, but my berkeley e-mail is not receiving any notifications for confirmation. I checked the filter and there seems to be no spam block. I also checked the spam section itself. Any thoughts?
How can we get a Berkeley email? I just SIR today.
