@enpz45 I originally thought it was from Berkeley. I was certain because UCB really takes the time to look over your application to make a decision. But after speaking to my counselor it could be from any UC school that you applied to. More likely than not they just want to verify the accurateness of your GPA as that is one of the heaviest factors they consider. Be glad that whichever UC requested them wants to make an accurate and informed decision regarding your admission.
That’s odd that it came from UCOP as they aren’t involved with admissions. Maybe they have some flacks who just go over general UC requirements.
I got a request from Riverside for an unofficial transcript when I applied a couple years ago. They said it would be made available to all the UCs as they all have access to the application and any communication related to it. I only went to one CCC so I assume it was to verify GPA. No biggie.
@Ohm888 @hopeful_bear I was pretty confused when I was notified (Monday Night) that I needed to send in my transcript from one of my previous CC’s I was at 7 years ago. But it is for AR I believe. I received an “alert” like ohm888 from UCR to notify me that I had to send the transcript to UCOP. I guess it’s good they are looking for clarification but I don’t like how it is two or three weeks later than others who received the notification…on top of this I I’ve had to juggle the s**t show that is UCR admissions, if anyone wants to go on a roller coaster ride read the UCR transfer thread.
@shadelz The upward trend definitely looks good. Congrats on the improvement
^^^ interesting that in both our situations it was UCR.
Does this means that I’m pretty much guaranteed to get into Berkeley? /s
@enpz45 no. However if you have a 3.9-4.0 they could be asking because you’re in the running for a scholarship. No one really knows. It would depend on why you were asked.
And Riverside potentially wanting you and maybe wishing to verify is miles away from Berkeley thinking the same thing. No offense to UCR, but you get my point.
@Ohm888 /s=sarcasm
Hey guys, I’m super nervous about these decisions. Can someone chance me? Sorry I’m posting this everywhere.
GPA: 3.64
Tag: UCSB
Major: Sociology
Pre-reqs: Completed
IGETC: Completed
EC: Ehh, decent
@5HisLife I would say theres a chance but not to count on it. Your gpa is the 25th percentile for that major which would be fine if your ECs weren’t “Ehh, decent”
@enpz45 Ohhhh
@Kozmos2050 They won’t allow it. Any pre-req classes that aren’t done before Spring semester are going to jeopardize your admission, so do well in these classes even at the cost of a private tutor. The only exception to this rule is if you have some heartbreaking story that you may explain why are you taking that pre-req class during the summer… (and Cal would probably ask you to finish it at Cal if it’s offered during the summer)
Hello, I have read many of your posts and have found that you are part of UCB’s college of Natural Resources. I also saw that you said taking prereq classes during Spring would jeopardize admissions. I am taking one prereq class currently during the Spring semester prior to transfer. How much does this impact the decision if you could please elaborate? Any feedback is extremely helpful!

@lawrence88 Taking a pre-req in spring has no impact on anything.
@lawrence88 @briank82…When attending a webinar’s for haas prior to the application and supplemental application, they stated each time taking a pre req in the spring will not affect your admission.
I’m pretty disappointed.
I found out that the engineering department had a supplemental form that I was supposed to have filled out by Jan. 31st. This was in addition to the TAU Berkeley update for fall courses which I did do. I am concerned that my failure to have completed this additional form knocked me out of the competition. Has anyone else done this and still gotten in?
I am applying to EECS; 4.0 GPA, all required courses completed and some of the highly recommended ones.
I am not sure if my essays were good - I talked a lot about my gaming passion and work on a game. I don’t know if they will take that seriously. I have not done any of the impressive internships but I have tutored a lot in all the math and physics classes as well as seriously studied several foreign languages. I was very involved in setting up an Ultimate Frisbee group.
Would appreciate feedback.
@suenos53
Call the school and tell them your situation. I heard missing the update jepodizes you for admissions.
@suenos53 If it was a required supplement or update, much like the one Haas requires, your application won’t even be considered.
I don’t know enough about EECS’ application process to know exactly what they do, but if something was required in January and it is now March, I would assume your application won’t even be read. You can always call and ask them, but “I didn’t know…” won’t really cut it for this competitive and high profile of a program. Regardless, best of luck.
@suenos53 I thought those two forms are next to each other? Did u do one and forget to do another one ?
Yoo guys, did anyone else get their acceptance/rejection from UCSD today?? I thought they weren’t supposed to come out until mid-April
