I have a question – my counselor and I had to change the classes I will be taking for the Spring quarter. Originally, I was registered for 2 academic courses and 2 P.E. classes. My counselor and I decided to drop the P.E. classes and add an academic course. I have finished all my Pre-Reqs already. How do I notify UC Berkeley that I have made this change? I called admissions and they said that if accepted, they will send me a form with any final changes made. The admissions rep. also said that they would let me know if my application is still sustained. Something just doesn’t sound right. I don’t know if I should wait until then to notify them of this change. Will this ruin my chances of getting accepted?

I’m in a similar position. I added a class last minute and posted the update on TAU. I was told it may not be seen by the admissions committees so I emailed each school. UCSD and UCLA replied that they updated their records. No one else replied. My counselor said I can appeal if I’m turned down so I can be re-evaluated with the updated information.
@suenos53 Yea, that sounds weird… I don’t think adding a class is as bad as dropping. But why would you be rejected? Berkeley said that when/if you get an acceptance letter, they will send you an additional update form. You can write that you took the extra class in that form, and make any other necessary changes/updates.
Yes. transfer students CAN switch their major if you apply to L&S at least, which you will learn in the orientation, but with exceptions of some impacted majors like econ or psych. Technically you can switch to those majors but they require you to take their pre-requisite in the first semester, and if your intended majors in applications were not them, it’s almost impossible to get into those classes.
But still, if you want to double major them, it’s different story. But transfer and double major at cal? haha try it.
@LynAmmo I used the general UC TAU section even though it was late. I think emailed UCLA first and they told me to directly contact the other schools, as well. I used the portals of each school. My counselor told me schools may or may not take my updated information into account.

I realized last second that my AP Physics credits would not be counted along with my CC engineering Physic classes at several of the UCs so I had to quick add on a three unit class to meet the 60 semester unit requirement. I just hope the schools all see that I corrected the minimal credit requirement.
hey guys, any social science majors here? i wanted to apply for peace and conflict studies but i spoke to an advisor at IAS and they told me this fall they’re opening up the global studies major so i went for that instead (she implied that it would be less impacted and PAC would actually be a focus area within this new major so it would be worth applying into it.) good luck to everyone!! 20 more days
TL0067 I happened to read the fine print on the info for some school (UCSD?) and then I went to my counselor and he confirmed. Not all schools are strict, though. A counselor at UCSC told me not to worry. For admission purposes they would let it go since I was off by just a credit. But I still signed up for an extra three unit class and tried to alert each school of the course addition. A few responded that they received my update.
If UCB accepts students into the school of L&S, but you can’t get directly into the Computer Science (BA) major, do they take into consideration your major? Or do they just look at you in general as another student?
