Here’s the stats apparently they favour californians more. http://■■■■■■■■■■■■/docs/2015FreshmanWaitlistAppealCancellation.pdf?f397bc
How do I input my grades if my school is semester based? The wait list asks for fall winter and spring grades. Also I only have my fall grades completed, would I put IP for spring?
Hey guys, I just opted in. I have a quick question, when you log back in what does your screen look like? Cause mine is the wait list screen
@GaroTriceps I’m semester based too and I just put winter grades
@GaroTriceps I just put my first semester grades under fall and my spring grades as IP. I don’t think it really matters.
@jh1015 Thanks I did the same.
@jh1015 @GaroTriceps if it’s a semester, wouldn’t it be under winter? Correct me if I’m wrong I just assumed
I just submitted my waitlist opt. 30mins ago. I live in california … did i send it in on time? it says submitted on 4/19/16 is the system just on east coast time? I’M SAFE RIGHT since the website said 11:59 pacific time?
You’re safe buddy, don’t worry, I ran into the same issue with some college apps. They will stand by their statement of 11:59 PST even if they’re system is running on ET (not sure why tho, Berks on PST)
But either way don’t fret you’ll be fine
@Yellowdude19 For my classes on my transcript it has Fall at the end of each class name, for example AP Calculus AB Fall. So I put the grades under fall.
@DynamicProphet Why Berkeley would want you, and why you’re a fit for them. Also include good new info, etc…
@GaroTriceps alright I see that makes sense. Thanks!
@GaroTriceps this is a silly question but what does your screen look like when you log in? Does it direct you to your wait list display?
.
@Desiree2 I actually have a really low SAT scores but a high GPA, however, my essays were really good. I don’t even know how I got waitlisted, I don’t know if that’s an advantage or not.
@Thesolu It is not clear what is the proportion at the end. The statistics does not show how many CA residents actually refused to SIR
It seems there is likely to have no housing left for waitlisted students…
Campus housing to waitlist more students amid enrollment increases http://www.dailycal.org/2016/02/08/campus-housing-waitlist-students-amid-enrollment-increases/
Also, it makes me wonder this year much less people will be removed from the admission waitlisted – since it appears Berkeley already added more student than they are capable to handle:
“With the campus set to absorb an additional 750 students in fall 2016”
I was at an admissions information session just last week and the admissions officer said Cal waitlisted 7,000 students this year, and that they hope 3,500 will opt in on the waitlist
Did they say anything about how many they plan to admit from the 3,500 that will opt in?
No, they can’t yet. They don’t know how many students are going to SIR to Berkeley, so they can’t give accurate stats yet.
