UC Berkeley - Class of 2020 Waitlist

Maybe the waitlist isn’t ranked. It is possible. Just seems ridiculously random after all that hard work sifting through applications and reading essays that they’d put that data to waste. Stranger things happen.

Maybe people with really low stats who were wait listed wont be notified until the end of the month.

Guys don’t be discouraged. If they admit students before the SIR deadline, shouldn’t that mean that’s good news? And plus I honestly don’t think that these were considered waves? If it were then we would be on Wave 5 right now. Since other people are wait listed at other places, they also have to wait if people accept those offer so then there will be space for us. Don’t give up hope. It just started

Are there any spots for international students? I feel frustrated.

@Yellowdude19 I like your positive attitude. It made my day

FYI - Listened in on a FPF webinar today and FPF rep mentioned they are only 50-60% full in Berkeley and even less at SF campus. Berkeley takes up to 750 and SF up to 300 students. So, that means 300-375 open seats in Berkeley and 150+ in SF. She also mentioned that if you are into art, you should take FPF SF which will have more art class offerings (and better chances of getting in).

Just got an e-mail from one of the Admissions Officers and she said that there will be offers made in the next few days. - hopefully for international students also.

The question is, will my patience hold out until next week… T.T

@kornido thanks for the info  hopefully that’s true ahhhh

@unilad2020 how did you get in touch with an admissions officer through email? Did you just email admissions@berkeley

On another thread, I see that last year at this time, there were only 50 spaces left in FPF.

@Faith2020 Probably a lot more FPF spaces available because Cal accepted less applicants in March but has a waitlist twice last year’s. FPF will fill up quickly as each wave releases, I’m sure.

Do you guys think EECS in-state is done?

@FlyingLark I seriously doubt it is. Barely any have gotten in off the waitlist

I think they will continue to make offers and a good portion of people will turn them down. I just might because I have become more and more enamored with my second choice. I know more than a few people who no longer care about the waitlists and have moved on. So, it ain’t over until it’s over.

(Of course, some of this is resentment at not getting accepted in the first place and getting accepted could change my mind. Won’t know until it happens)

@Back2school36 Same. What’s your second choice?

Housing deadline for regular admits is 5/7. Maybe there will be more fall admit offers depending on housing availability. Anyone know how many spaces avail in FPF as of today? Thanks to everyone providing updates!

BTW - For those locals interested in FPF Berkeley. They’re having an Open House tomorrow/Friday at 1-3pm (horrible time, I know). They’re at 2515 Hillegass Ave. This was announced during the FPF Webinar yesterday.

The housing application blends fall admits and FPF; same deadline. Assume deadlines will extend for wait list clearances (which will probably be FPF) which occur in next wave.

Anyone know if they’ll let you know either way? Like will they notify me if I don’t get a spot?
