@Jado17 @i2400ezpz Maybe I should explain why I would choose Princeton since I’m being accused of giving false advice. Princeton has a MUCH nicer campus, a nicer atmosphere, and a richer culture. Similarly, while EECS may be ranked higher, both programs are prestigious to the point that I can’t see one giving much of an advantage over another. When we’re talking about such highly ranked schools, it really comes down to which school you would want to live at more, and I think most would rather live at Princeton. Maybe there’s something unique about Berkeley’s atmosphere that you particularly enjoy, but if they cost the same price for me (and I had gotten into Princeton), I would choose Princeton every time. Only reason I would choose Berkeley is because I’m in state and it would cost way less, but if the cost is the same, then Princeton is the way to go. Talk to some people who have attended both programs and ask what they think.
@Faith2020 I haven’t heard from anyone yet, but I hear they’re supposed to go out in the coming days.
My friend’s brother went to Princtin for his undergrad and he is now in UPen’s medical school; he says that Princton is much better Than any other school even UPen.
@Jado17 man im so shocked that berkeley wait listed you, like i know its eecs but what more do they want???
ur invention actually sounds so cool, what was it?
Do you guys think it is possible to appeal a spring admission?
@seditiousseals yeah i think you’re right.
@catswin it’s a set of different machines that you control with your brain, mainly made for handicapped people.

Do you guys think I even stand a chance to get off for EECS? My update consisted of the research paper getting published, insight into the second research paper I’m writing, the book on MUNing, updates on the automation project and getting nominated for an international award for Non Resident Indians.
Princeton for sure, if money and weather is not a problem
I would choose Princeton over Berkeley, in general. But if I got onto Berkeley’s EECS program, then I think that would be an entirely different story. I would choose Berkeley EECS over Princeton (any undergrad program). The Berkeley EECS will give you more opportunities than a mere Princeton degree. The average starting salary of EECS grads, for instance is over $100k, way higher than the highest undergrad programs of Princeton.

@Jado17 true he has a point. berkeley is 3rd in the world for eecs. the main point is that berkeley puts u within the reach of jobs in the silicon valley
@reden2016 @catswin Anyway I think if (hopefully) I get into Berkeley EECS, I’m gonna use the 7 days to travel, visit both and choose the one that feels more like home.
@Jado17 goodluck! haha if you do 7at falis bayak hahah
@catswin thanks hahhahahhaahaha
need some information urgently please - my daughter (she has registred for fpf) is signing up for housing - on the initial page where there is university status she is getting a blank -,is there somewhere in cal central that she needs to indicate that she is fpf?
I need advice!! I SIRed to UCLA, but I got of the waitlist for Cal and I’m considering it. UCLA contacted me and told me that my financial aid package should be available next week. What happens if I wait to cancel one of my SIRs until next week? I really want to see what UCLA is offering me, but I don’t want to jeopardize my admissions to both schools…
@simonsays98 Did you already SIR to Berkeley? When is your deadline to SIR to Berkeley?
@simonsays98 Think deeply until monday which one do you like more and consider all the factors. If I were you, I would choose the closest one to my home because both are great.
So I was going through the housing page, and it says that the deadline for applying for housing for new freshmen is 7th May, what does that mean for us? O.o
@anandrishabh1 Probably for admitted students
They may not release any more wait lists.
