I’m first gen immigrant Asian, so little afraid of leaving California and settling in NC where there’s fewer Asians, but again, I want to live in East cost because my dream job is working in the State department or DOJ…
@mochicheese I can’t say for sure how stern Cal is with prereqs (I’ve heard varying opinions), but if you do get rejected, you can submit an appeal with the new class info. I’ve heard the most successful kind of appeal is one that corrects missing units or classes. Good luck!

@Jiminlovee check out the UC Berkeley admissions twitter (I dont have a twitter but it’s open so anyone can see the posts) they will post there when the decisions are released. You will also receive an email when to check your admission status.
So mostly trying to keep everybody in the dark until then, but in previous years they release their decisions at around 3-5 PM, but this year Berkeley is steering away from previous traditions, so I honestly can’t tell you when… just be patient and try to relax. I know I have become a bit obsessed and check my email and my Berkeley portal like every hour… dont do that please, it is damaging to your mental health

@mochicheese I almost switched out of media studies and into IS. This was after I was accepted, though. I only had one of the pre-reqs done and was going to do second at Cal. That was okay. While it’s not quite the same thing, my feeling was they care more about the path you want to pursue and GPA rather than that one course.
Just spoke with someone from UC Berkeley Undergraduate Admissions through the phone and she said it would be coming out at/after 5:00 PM. I have a feeling it will be between 3 and 5 though.
The twitter account just said that decisions will arrive before 11:59 PST, so that is strange.
What happens if you don’t submit the supplemental forms by January 31st? My friend forgot to send them, and ended up never sending them. Also, what even are the supplemental forms?
Pm or am? Will make sense if they meant 11:59 pm
@boblmao1 If your friend applied to Letters and Sciences, the supplemental forms were to indicate how you would fulfill the general education requirements.
So that basically means he’s automatically rejected? I understand.

I did not even know they required supplemental forms for all majors…
i applied to berkeley as a computer science major. am i able to change my major if i get accepted? i’m reconsidering going into that major at berkeley.
