For people who have submitted the Undergraduate Admissions Update Form regarding a dropped class, has anyone heard back with a confirmation yet? If so, please let us know what dates you submitted/heard back. Thanks!
@RLSSME I did, on April 21st I sent in a W from last quarter & my new schedule (I dropped 2 classes and replaced them with 2 others). I heard on April 23rd with "We have reviewed all information that you submitted via the Undergraduate Admissions Update Form, and we are pleased to inform you that your admission offer is sustained. "
Also I emailed my admissions officer! He said that my two 3’s (for both AP French & AP Lang) count towards my transfer credit, so I’m good so happy I was sooo panicky and I just wanted to double check phewww
Submitted an Undergraduate Admissions Update Form last night around 10:30 of a dropped class and received confirmation that it will not change my admission status at 5:!0 pm.
Has anyone received any information regarding the Transfer Day schedule this Saturday on the 4th? I registered for it on the 19th but I feel like it’s kinda odd that they haven’t updated the event page with a schedule at this point, especially if people have to prepare travel-wise.
@jordanh16 yeah it kinda sucks that they are giving us so little time to prepare, especially since I live in SoCal and plane tickets are dummy high. idk I just feel like they coulda planned it a bit better (and been faster with the info/schedule).
The strangest thing is happening in my portal.
I submitted an Undergraduate Admissions Update Form last Wednesday (4/24) regarding dropped courses. I had nine courses listed on my conditional admit page (we’re on the quarter system). In my update, I indicated that I had already completed four in winter quarter, was in progress on two, and was dropping three courses (two were not major prep, the third was but I had fulfilled the requirement via AP credit, as listed on ASSIST). I have already met the 90 quarter units minimum and the College of Engineering does not accept IGETC.
Since some of you heard back 1-2 days after submitting the form, I took a closer look at my portal, and noticed that the the courses required on my conditional admit page had changed from nine to five, and the four missing courses are exactly the ones that I have already completed, as I explained in my update. I am absolutely sure of this change, as I had pasted the required courses into a separate doc for planning. The date of the conditional admit letter has not changed from Apr 19.
I’m not sure what I should do at this point. I’ll probably call the admissions office when they open tomorrow. Is anyone else in this situation?
Was the class a pre-req, or for IGETC?
@AntoniusBlock Nope, none of the dropped courses were major prep, except for chemistry (which Berkeley accepts AP credit to satisfy) and I didn’t do IGETC at all (CoE doesn’t accept it).
well, UCB finally gave me my “offer” for financial aid… if you can call it that… 12500 in unsubsidized direct loans, and 1500 in grant money.
Guess whos not goin to UCB…
I was wondering if my community college GPA matters; I’m a bit worried because if not, then I won’t have GEs to buffer my GPA. Could fellow experienced transfers answer in terms of summer internships, graduate school, employment and/or competitive clubs? Do they only care about Cal GPA starting from the first semester? If so, how do club applications work for my first semester?
@misseskite Yikes, Sorry to hear that.
Any knows how to get into EOP???
@tramnguyen193 I’m wondering about EOP as well.
Also, has anyone else not heard back from Bridges about Transfer Day yet?
what is my calnet id??? im so confused how do i make a berkeley email???
@slimreaper I think they give it to you once you SIR
@slimreaper The Calnet Id is confusing, and it does not appear right away after SIRing-it takes 12 to 24 hours to appear (I am not sure where it appears bc my teen did it), even though they request that the task be completed within 24 hours. My teen completed it after the 24 hour mark, but still within the day it was due.
After you have the Calnet ID you can make your email.
I’ve been frustrated with the Transfer Edge program for summer class registration. The Calcentral department is still trying to fix the problem with transfer students being able to register for summer classes. The office told me it will take till next week to resolve their IT problems. Rough part is that there is 6 spots left for a class that’s required on my conditions for Admission. What happens if the class is full by the time their IT problem is fixed? What happens to my admission status?
hi i am going to apply as a transfer to UCB next year. I currently go to UCR and UCB is much closer to home. Are admissions from other UCs much rarer than CC’s? I have a 3.9 gpa and I am a business major on a pre med track
@candylover132 a business major as in ur applying to Haas? It’s the hardest out of all the majors at UCB. You also might have to come up with a better reason for wanting to go that isn’t “its closer.” You gotta come up with something really compelling. You are already at an amazing school! What exactly makes you want to leave?
