Hi guys, did anyone drop a class after May 10th? I am thinking of dropping my Physics class(took it for another UC requirement) as it is not a required class for UCB and it will also not affect my completion of IGETC. I emailed my admissions officer last Monday and he just got back to me today saying that if I have not dropped the class, it would be better not to drop it since it is on the conditions. However, I would like to drop it if possible as the class is quite intense and I am not sure if I could pass the class and wouldn’t want to spend most of my time studying for this class since it is not a required class at all.
I emailed him asking if there are other ways to confirm if I could/could not drop the class but I am assuming he will only get back to me next week so would like to hear suggestions from you guys. (sorry if the whole thing is too long to read)
@cs123456 the eternal dilemma. The UCs are notorious for not always giving a direct answer, especially Berkeley. The fact that it’s listed in your provisional may indeed be an issue (or maybe not). I would try reaching out elsewhere, not sure where. Maybe engineering college? Directly with admissions? I’m grasping here.
@transferrrrrrcc Blackwell used to be just for freshmen. Looks like maybe they’re changing it this year to freshmen and continuing students. (Although it might still be mostly freshmen.) They have a nice little gym there.
I think most transfers live in Martinez Commons. New Sequoia is really nice. Depends mostly on your budget, I suppose.
I think Blackwell was all freshmen this year. However they opened it up to continuing students as well this year. My kid opted to go for a second year next year at Blackwell. Many transfers who go for university housing do go with Martinez since that place is not available for incoming freshmen.
Under the conditions of agreement it states that “I agree to complete all planned and in-progress coursework with a 3.0 or higher GPA, and no individual grade lower than a C.”
Does this mean you must have a 3.0+ cumulatively or 3.0 for in-progress coursework during Spring semester? I’m not worried about my cumulative GPA, but this semester I may end up with a C (and therefore a 2.0 GPA for this semester) in the only class I’m taking. Worried about getting rescinded.
Yeah, the conditions for that means a 3.0 GPA minimum for your in-progress coursework, meaning your classes this semester. You should try contacting your Cal admissions officer regarding your grade.
@whostolemycookie I got an email notification to check MAP@berkeley and it was an update there! It says it was posted yesterday, but I got the email telling me to check this morning.
I already SIRed to UCLA and got Regents at UCLA, but idk why i’m still a little salty Berkeley didn’t give me regents. It seemed like they accepted more people to Regents then UCLA so i thought I’d probably get it. But I guess they are looking for different things.
Part of me feels like the fact that when a UC Berkeley rep called to talk to me about Berkeley I straight up told her I wasn’t interested in Berkeley and I’d be going to UCLA could have been a factor. Oh Well lol
My teen is completing Full IGETC Spring 2019, but never applied for the IGTEC Certificate of Achievement and noticed that people got that today at graduation and just want to know if there was a deadline or that as long as they fill out a request for Final Transcript and Full IGETC, it will be fine.
