@mokkon I think you can apply as a spring transfer. Do you need another year to complete the reqs for your new major?
Thank you @Not2cool4school
@transfer2019stu I would be switching to Bioengineering so I would need basic gen bio, acclerated combo of botany/zoology (its offered at my cc), gen chem 1&2, o chem 1 (would not have time for o chem 2, but it is only recommended), all three calc based physics classes, calc 1-3, DE, Linear, and the 3 or so CS classes required
@mokkon Unless you have upper division credits from anywhere, there’s no risk to having too many credits to be eligible for transfer. If you do have UD credits, different campuses have different rules, which are all published in the PDF guide for counselors for the entire UC system.
Hey guys, I just submitted my SIR. Does anyone know how and where we make our CalNet?
Go to your community college counselor/adviser/etc… and get the “IGETC Certification Form.” Some schools will make this available on their website for you to print out.
Fill out the form – it will ask for basic information (name, date, address, student ID #, requesting partial or full IGETC cert.) and the postal address of the admissions office for the school(s) you wish the information to be sent to.
Submit the form – turn it in to your counselor/adviser and request a receipt or signed copy. Your counselor will then submit the form to the school district. An admissions and records officer from the district will review your application for certification and approve it or not.
Receive your student copy in the mail – the district will mail you a copy of the certification decision. If there is any problem or discrepancy (or if you just want to say “thank you”) contact the admissions and records officer who reviewed your request directly. Their contact should be on the form mailed to you (if not, look them up on the district’s directory).
The district will mail your certification directly to the school – you should see a nice little “RECEIVED” notification on the student portal right around the time you get your student copy in the mail. Call your academic adviser if it gets close to the deadline and they haven’t received it yet.
Cheers.
When you SIR is that when you fill out your residency of your parents and yours? Or has no one filled out any information after SIRing? Does anyone have any information on how this?
The Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) is simply declaring your intention to register. I don’t think you fill out much. There’s a deposit that they will ask you to pay.
Proof of residency is covered in another document that you submit later.
anyone know when regents are coming ? i already submitted my SIR to UCLA but i just want to know lol
Hello! I was wondering if any of you guys knew anything about signing up for language classes that require a placement test? Class registration opens up in July but the placement tests aren’t until August…
Regents Scholarship Info: by may 23rd.
I emailed the Regents Scholarships office and got this response.
“Thank you for getting in touch, and congratulations on your admission to UC Berkeley!
Nomination and consideration for the Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarship for incoming transfer students is done internally by the admissions office and our faculty committee. Awarding decisions will be finalized and released to recipients by May 23rd. If you have not received notification by that time, then you were not selected as a recipient of the scholarship.
I hope this is helpful to you, and best wishes!”
Huh I guess the people at the financial aid office must be out of touch with admissions. Two different people there told me during Transfer Day that notifications for regents went out already lol.
Plum is correct, the SIR is separate from residency documents. The residency proof should show up in your btasks after you submit SIR and pay deposit. Residency forms were an online questionnaire that you fill out and is then audited by a school officer.
@Makemeabear thank you so much! do happen to know if anyone has received any notification that they are being considered/ they are nominee or if there was some sort of application?
@jordanh16 i called like the financial aid office like 4 weeks ago and asked and they said that they had sent them out. but i didn’t believe them because it wouldn’t make sense that literally no one from college confidential got it.
this whole college process has taught me that people who work at school offices are pretty much useless for info lol.
Hey Guys!
So I was accepted as a spring admit, but I am having trouble deciding between Cal in the spring and Columbia in the fall. Cal is significantly cheaper, but as an older student, I don’t know if waiting the extra semester is beneficial to me. Just looking for some advice and opinions, Thanks guys!
More Info on me:
I am a Southern California resident, I am 25 y/o, I am a Political Science Major, I want to attend Law School after obtaining my BA. Thanks!
Especially as a pol sci major, Columbia would best suit your interests.
Do you have more lower division classes that you need to take as breadths? Perhaps you can use the extra semester to finish those at at CC.
