UC Berkeley Fall 2020: Transfer Thread

I have a 3.97 (my CC doesn’t have a +/- grading scale buti took summer classes at a different CC that did and i got an A- in one class… darn). I’m mainly concerned because there were 2 classes listed on Assist for my major that I didn’t take because they weren’t offered in the term in which I intended to take them. I explained this in the additional comments section but… i really don’t know what will become of me. Additionally, apparently the transfer acceptance rate for psychology at Berkeley is 9% … oofie

What are you guys doing to pass the time? I’m refreshing this thread every couple of minutes and blasting sad music so I can make myself sadder than I have to be!

wait actually 3.98. not that much of a difference but im still a paranoid ass ahahah

Aw. Im sorry about that. I wish you the best of luck!! I had to drop chemistry due to covid-19 related reasons. I updated this on my TAU before April. It was a “recommended” class for my major-prep for transfer but wasn’t required.

Hope they will see past this due to our previous accomplishments!

Were you actually notified of this or are you just assuming?

@tyler25419 I am!

Rejected

Major: Nuclear Engineering
GPA: 3.81

::Pre-Decision::

When I first applied to UCs, for some reason I thought having a 4.0 was basically an automatic entry. It was not until I found this thread that I noticed a 4.0 is pretty common especially in STEM … reality-check huh.

Anyone else login into their calcentral and notice the two new tasks? Unversity code of conduct and a welcome to calcentral?

Nope, you must be accepted!

I opened the welcome to calcentral notification and I got

“Congratulations on your acceptance into UC Berkeley and welcome to CalCentral. This dashboard will assist you throughout your entire career at UC Berkeley. Through CalCentral, you will receive important notifications, to do items, register for classes, learn about your tuition bill and financial aid, and access your student records. Please check this on a frequent basis to make sure you access all the important information and action items, from admission to graduation.”

I don’t have that so thank you for giving me my rejection early I can go back to sleep now (btw, congratulations!)

Congrats!!!

I’m in the same boat. Have a low cumulative because I switched majors, but have a 4.0 in all my Major coursework

well that’s a pretty good sign, congrats!

I cant even login to calcentral lol

Do you only get the welcome to calcentral if you previously registered (like a summer class or something)?

I was wondering the same, I don’t think I even have a Calcentral account?

they haven’t released all decisions yet, you still could’ve been admitted!

I don’t even know what calcentral is hahaha I didn’t have to sign up for it or anything. throughout the rest of the process.
