I know. It’s sad. My sister had one fall term on campus, then this last spring term online. Based on what I’m reading I think most universities are trying to move to hybrid — large lectures online, seminars, discussions and smaller classes on site. Of course, its all in flux. If it is fully online I suspect there will be some small tuition refunds.
Just in from Berkeley:
"We will not cancel the fall semester. We are working with local public health officials to determine when we will resume in-person instruction. At this time we don’t have an estimated date … We plan to continue to offer remote instruction as an option for Fall 2020, even if classes are held in-person.
When we do resume in-person instruction, it will likely be a phased approach with certain types of classes considered more appropriate to resume in-person than others."

Great news tbh i was kinda worried if i went to Berkeley for fall 2020 that id have to do it online, and was thinking to make my decision based on that. I hope its in person!

Hey guys! Can anyone please give me their opinion what they think will happen in my situation? I recently got accepted from Cal, but before the acceptance came out, I had dropped from one of my IP courses due to personal/ family problems during this time. This course wasn’t needed for my major specifically at Berkeley and I’d still be transferring with 63 units. Do you guys think that I will be okay once I fill the update form and explain everything? Please let me know 
@astropp Hey, I’ve heard they are being a little more forgiving because of the current situation. I think someone earlier said that it shouldn’t impact your admissions if the course wasn’t needed for your major, units, or IGETC completion, but I can’t confirm if this is true or not. I would advise you to call the admissions office and ask about your situation and see what they say. I hope everything works out!!
Does anyone else have to get vaccines and/or get TB-tested for eTang immunization requirements? I scheduled a TB-test for next week Monday, and they don’t give vaccinations as of now in the medical offices nearby which is understandable, but I am not sure if it’s worth the risk of going outside right now. Given the deadline is a couple of months away, should I just wait this out?

“NOTE: We know that due to COVID-19 it might be harder to complete some of these requirements by the deadline of July 31, especially if you are needing to get vaccines/titers as access to see your provider or visit a clinic may be more limited.
Please try and complete as much as possible and we will continue to monitor the situation and update our website as things evolve.”
I would wait it out. Especially since UC Berkeley announced that Fall semester will be online as an option even if they resume in-person classes.
I had a pretty low gpa for my major and decided it was worth the risk to know if Berkeley was meant to be or not. I knew if I got good enough grades to declare I was a shoe in since transfers practice comphrensive review instead of holistic.
It worked out tho! I’m declared officially and I got in.
I’m ready to SIR but I heard if you wait theres a higher chance of you getting a fatter scholarship. Is there any level of truth to that? Also can scholarships be used for things like books, food, or housing?

Did anyone get in with bioengineering ?
My community college doesn’t send out IGETC certifications until November, which is way past the due date for IGETC certification. Does anyone know if my admission would get rescinded? A lot of people in the past transferred to UCB from my school so I wonder why.
@hussey1 are you sure? That doesn’t make sense. You should recheck. Anyway all you do is fill out form at end of this term and request it get sent.
