UC Berkeley financial aid for international students?

I have read that UC Berkeley does not offer financial aid for international students.

However, it does offer scholarships.

I’m just wondering how many scholarships there are any whether they can cover the full tuition or close to the full amount?

And also where is the best place to find information concerning these scholarships?

How should one apply to these scholarships?

Thank you

Here is a link for scholarships available for International applicants.

Check the requirements for each scholarships and I seriously doubt any of these scholarships will cover $35K/year tuition up to $55K/year for tuition/room and board.

The majority of applicants receiving aid are California in-state students with a combination of Cal grants, Blue and Gold opportunity programs and Federal aid/work study help covers the $30K/year costs (Tuition/room/board) for these students.

As an International, expect to pay the majority of your costs.

The UC’s have limited scholarships for non-residents and the few that are available typically run several thousand dollars; non significant enough to cover the $55K costs per year.

Are you asking for scholarships that will cover nearly the “full amount” (tuition, room, board, books)?

If not, how much will your parents pay each year?

The awards for int’ls aren’t typically very big. I think that a few years ago, an in’l posted that he got a rare $20k per year award…but the school costs over $50k to attend. For an int’l who would have to buy health insurance and travel, the cost would be at least $57k per year.

No, not even close. The scholarships are Regents and they are limited and the UC Regents scholarships range from 2k to 10k. You would not typically expect to get one. Application is by invitation, you will be contacted if they want info from you.
