UC Berkeley Transfer Edge Cost

Has anyone figured out what it will cost to enroll in Transfer Edge over the Summer? I hear it's over $400 per unit and some random fees but how many units is transfer edge? I can't seem to get a straight answer from Summer Advise.

$406 per unit. $34 class pass fee. $136 one-time campus fee.
So right now, I’m enrolled in 7 units. My bill for registration comes out to $3012 (this is not including housing).
You don’t have to enroll in a certain number of units for transfer edge, but you do need to be enrolled in 6 units to qualify for any type of financial aid in the summer. The point of the program is to help you prepare in your transition from community college. It also allows you to pay UC student rates for summer session units, as opposed to visiting student rates.
So you can enroll in however many or little units you feel comfortable with. Just make sure you speak with your admissions counselor beforehand. They need to update your conditions of admissions and approve the courses you’re taking. Hope this helps.

What would it cost if I just enrolled in transfer edge and no summer courses?

I guess you can just try to fill out an application. But I have to ask, what is your reason for enrolling in transfer edge? Because it seems like you just want to experience the campus for the summer?

The reason I want to enroll in transfer edge is because I’m a new transfer student. Isn’t that the point of transfer edge?

From their website [Transfer Edge | Berkeley Summer Sessions](Transfer Edge | Berkeley Summer Sessions)

Transfer Edge is a specially designed program for those who have been admitted as transfer students to UC Berkeley for the coming fall. This program gives you an early start on your Cal experience by offering popular required courses as well as courses in your major. This is an opportunity to get to know the campus before the fall rush, and connect with peers at both the Summer Kickoff event and popular co-curricular activities, held throughout the summer, that will give you an inside look into life at UC Berkeley. Transfer Edge participants not only get a head start on their Cal careers, but also save money by paying UC student rates rather than Summer Sessions visiting student rates.

The point of Transfer edge is to allow newly admitted transfer students to take classes prior to starting in the Fall. So you’re basically in the program to take classes in the summer. To even complete the application, you have to select courses. Hope this helps.
