am i the only one who got more nervous after getting the email?
@getoutmeswamp haha yes I got nervous when I saw the email but hey I think you have a really good chance of getting accepted! So don’t stress too much lol.
@Mitroyo I think you do too! and glad i am not the only one who got nervous from the email!!!
Why would they make the deadline 3 days before admission decisions are released lol.
So, final word, does the email mean anything?
I don’t know if we can definitively say either way, but I think it is fair to say that it will not have an enormous impact on admission. I would try not to stress if you didn’t, or if you are like me stress out more because you did
I received the email, too! I don’t want to look too deeply into it, though. I can’t help to think that perhaps the Alum Scholarship email was sent to individuals who 1.) submitted a FAFSA and/or 2.) demonstrate significant financial need? I read earlier in this thread someone who didn’t submit a FAFSA and didn’t receive the email, so know knows.
it might make sense that it is financially based, because not to brag or anything, but I’m poor as f
I didn’t submit a FAFSA and didn’t get the email but I think I read that some didn’t either and still did but idk
My mom reads Cal alumni scholarship essays and says it’s separate from admissions and is not a guarantee of anything. Same with all the alumni offices at all the UCs.
Have any of you guys thought about if you will take summer classes wherever you end up attending or do you plan on starting in the fall?
I will be taking summer classes if I get in! I also already live in Berkeley so that makes it a bit easier
@philosophyCAL I live in San Diego, so if I go to UCSD I’ll be doing summer classes there. Everywhere else, I will be starting in the fall.
@philosophyCAL I would totally take summer classes if they offer me admission but I don’t think everyone who gets accepted can attend during the summer no? I think they have to offer you admission for the summer?
I also got the email. I find it slightly annoying that they would make the deadline before decisions…we could write the essays and very well be wasting our time since we may be rejected
I never thought I would be one of these people but here I am stressing because I did NOT get the email.
Then again, my parents make a lot of money and I get almost no financial aid so I don’t think I deserve the scholarship anyway.
