UC berkeley vs. UC riverside?

decisions decisions...={
which one...??? money is not a matter because i get full scholarship to both...but i live like 10 mint away from riversdie, and 20 away from berkeley because of my sis.

Seems like you’ve already made your decision.

Judging by your location, I don’t think you needed to make a thread.

definitely Riverside, you know gas money is really expensive these days and the 10 mins drive makes a lot difference.

How can you live 10min from Riverside and be 20 from Berkeley at the same time? Or are you saying that your sister lives 20min from Cal and you could live with her?

well, i did sumbit my SIR to berkeley, but im contemplating whether i should really be in that competitive mind set and get a lower GPA, after all, all UCs should provide the same education and are equal. since im planning on going to mmed school, i want to get a 4.0 at the uc…

and yes, my sis live 20 min away from berkeley…but then that doesnt matter, since im getting everything free, so i dont see a reason not to dorm.

Ha ha! You fell for it, you fell for going to Berkeley!

Be prepared for massive grade deflation, indifferent professors, and impecunious hobos!

Is this a joke?

And if it’s true, why are your only two choices berkeley and riverside? You should have had SD, UCI, UCD, and/or UCSB as more viable backups than riverside.

[UC Riverside has had grade deflation from 1992 to 2000.](http://www.gradeinflation.com/UCriverside.html) Average grades in 2000 was only 2.74.

[UC Berkeley average grades](UC-Berkeley) were 3.12 in 1997, 3.24 in 2005, and 3.27 in 2006.

If you want the easiest route to a 4.0 without regard for any other considerations, you would have looked for some other schools with less competitive students and more grade inflation (generally not UCs or CSUs). For example, [Arizona, Kansas, Eastern Oregon](http://www.gradeinflation.com/arizona.html), [Western Michigan](http://www.gradeinflation.com/westernmichigan.html), [Western Washington](http://www.gradeinflation.com/westernwashington.html), [Wisconsin Green Bay](http://www.gradeinflation.com/wisconsingreenbay.html), and [Wisconsin La Crosse](http://www.gradeinflation.com/Wisconsinlacrosse.html).

Yeah, and hate to break it to you, but getting a 4.0 is no easy feat anywhere.
