I was curious how someone could qualify for this. It says it is for families with an income of below 80,000, but I doubt they give out that many....Anyone get this in their financial aid? I applied to a couple UCs as a transfer, but I am just wondering if my plan will be completely different for each school. I have a 4.0 as of now, and my family makes about 40,000 a year....any idea?

The BGOP is just a promise that need-based financial aid grants at UCs will be at least as much as systemwide in-state tuition and fees, which it probably would be anyway for most or all of those who fall into the income limit. Go to the campus web sites and run the net price calculators to see what their financial aid estimates for you look like.

Are you instate? If not, then you don’t qualify for Blue and Gold. If you are and you meet the other req’ts, then you do qualify.

It’s really just an incorporation of Cal Grants in most cases, so it’s not as if the UCs themselves are doling out that much money.

i am in-state. Thanks for the info!
