Congratulations and here is the information: UC Davis Aggie Grant Plan

I want to know my chances for applying to UC Davis undeclared and electrical engineer major. I have a 4.15 UC uncapped GPA 3.7 unweighted GPA . I took 6 AP classes in total throughout junior and sophomore and planning to take 6 in senior. I am also taking 4 AP exams in junior. I got a 5 on my AP Chinese exam. I am involved to Stanford AI summer camp, building a AI product. I also have family difficulty backgrounds.

UCD is a fairly straight forward. Meet the requirements and you can change.

How do I change my major into the College of Engineering?
If planning to change your major, or add an additional major, you are required to complete a Change of Major webform. The Change of Major webform will be submitted to the appropriate advisors and dean’s offices involved.

In order to change your major to, or to double major with, a major in the College, you must satisfy requirements that have been established by the College of Engineering faculty:

For students that matriculated to UC Davis as a Freshman:

  1. Be a registered student and have completed at least one quarter (minimum of 12 units) at UC Davis
  2. Have completed not more than 135 cumulative units (excluding AP units); students who have completed more than 135 units will be considered on an appeal basis only
  3. Be in good academic standing and meet minimum progress requirements
  4. Have received a letter grade for all courses that satisfy Engineering degree requirements
  5. Have met the following:
    a. completed at least the following five courses: MAT 21A,B,C; PHY 9A; and CHE 2A* and
    b. a GPA of 2.0 or higher in all completed MAT, PHY, BIS, and CHE courses required for your intended major, and have received a C- or better in each of these courses

do you know what the ges are like for non stem majors? like if im an english major for example would i have to take math physics or chem?

A quick question
Are all the stat mentioned here (10 AP, 6 honors) from 9-12th or just took in 10th and 11th grades?

You can find the GE requirements here: UC Davis GE

Yes, you will be required to take at least 12 units (3-4 classes) in science. There are many classes that fulfill the science GE requirements that aren’t hard sciences like physics and chem.

Just Sophomore and Junior years. My kid’s school is on semester system.

Here is a link to the GE requirements for all majors. 12-20 units need to come from the Science/Engineering area but they can be classes like Nutrition or Geology for example. You would not be required to take Chemistry, Physics etc… At Freshman orientation, your academic advisor can recommend courses of interest.

As far as I know, they are not currently offering guided tours.

When are you planning on visiting? Monday is the first day of spring quarter and Yolo county moved to the orange tier which might change what is offered. Your best bet is to call and ask.

Would you choose UCD with Regents over UCLA or UCSD? My son is fortunate to receive Regents scholarship at UCD for BME, and is trying to decide whether to choose it over UCLA (Biophysics) or UCSD (BME with Regents). He’s looking to go into biomedical research (or maybe medicine). Any input is appreciated

Does anyone have feedback on the International Relations program in UC Davis? DS has so far been accepted to UCD, Loyola Marymount, SDSU, SLO (anthro & geography), and Santa Clara (economics).

Does anyone know when our financial package will arrive?

Davis is top rated for bio and for engineering according to US News. In fact, it’s tied with UCLA for biological sciences. Minus the competition too

@daddyiscoming Have you checked the FA portal? My friend’s daughter got her update, including grants and loans. He sent me a screenshot of it last week.

Does anyone know if people are allowed on campus? Last summer, even though the campus was closed we were still able to walk around. Of course all the buildings were locked. We are planning to visit UCB and UCD this spring break.

Yes you are allowed on campus. If you want to enter a building (ex. library, Memorial Union) you need to complete a Symptom Survey and be prepared to show it to one of the Aggie Public Health Ambassadors at the entrance.

Here is a list of what is open at UC Davis. https://campusready.ucdavis.edu/status/whats-open

Anyone know the statistics on appeals to UC Davis. I plan to appeal, but are my chances truly that slim?

Looks like last year only one appeal resulted in an admission:
