It takes me to MyAdmissions page for appeals and says “Sorry, only non-selected applicants can appeal their decision.” What does it meaaaaaannnn! Probably nothing since I doubt they update their database, but it doesn’t hurt to wonder.

Davis is my dream school! I just can’t wait til April 19th haha.

Mine says “Sorry, only non-selected applicants can appeal their decision”, too. I went onto the same page for last year’s application (I got rejected last year) and it showed me a form for appealing.

It’s a potential clue, but I wouldn’t get too excited. Just because you’re not “non-admitted” doesn’t mean that you’re “admitted”. Your application could still be in review haha. Davis is my first choice too, so the wait is definitely nerve wracking. Hang in there though, we should be able to get in as long as we have a 3.0-3.1+ GPA and we applied to a non-impacted major!

Hey guys, let’s try and figure this out… I know this is all just speculation, but hey you never know. The FAFSA hack was legitimate and this might turn out to be that way too! Everyone go check your decision portal (follow the instructions on mintyy’s post #21) and post back what you see.

@mintyy: What was your GPA and what major did you apply to? Are you from CA and are you attending a CCC?

@MarlinFF: Hey, I’m just trying to honest and realistic here, okay? Don’t feel bad, please about what I’m about to say… I saw your post on UCR’s thread and I noticed that you had a 3.05 and you applied to Bio. In all honestly, Bio is the most impacted major at Davis (with the exception of engineering maybe) and its very very competitive to get in there. Your GPA is very respectable and I know you worked hard for it, but I just don’t think its enough to be admitted to UC Davis, based on last year’s thread. Of course, we may very well be proved wrong, so don’t give up hope, you never know!

When you post here, please post your GPA and the major you applied to! If we see any weird decisions like high GPA people getting the appeal form, then this whole speculation might be invalid.

I didn’t check last year around this time, so I don’t know. But the fact that some of us are getting the Appeal form and some of us are getting the “Sorry” message seems to be pretty conclusive. And it seems like the people getting the appeals form have GPAs on the lower end of the applicant pool. So idk, we’ll definitely know once the FAFSA page updates with the “Application Decision Status” thing!

Although it’s not a definite indicator because there may still be some applications in review, judging from what I hear from other individuals, it seems that it is for the most part, accurate.

Hmm i don’t see the appeal message that you guys are getting. It just says “your financial aid package is not yet complete” and “not satisfied” next to admissions application decision.

^The FAFSA trick has worked for a few years now and this trick is through the actual Admissions website. If the FAFSA office can leak info about admissions, I’m pretty sure that the actual Admissions office can leak info too LOL.

But think about it… the fact that there’s no high GPA applicants with the “Sorry” message (so far, at least) and everyone with the appeals form has a relatively low GPA, tends to make this pretty conclusive. Of course, we may all end up being wrong in the end and if that happens to be the case, we can all have a good laugh over this. :)

If there’s anyone who TAGed who’s getting an appeal form (and you know for sure that you didn’t void your contract), please post here! That’ll make it obvious on whether or not this trick is actually trustworthy or not.

Oh wow. I see the “sorry no appeals” message. And I have a TAG…but I may have broken one of the provisions by being a part time student last semester.

Hmm I don’t know, really! I feel like I’m pretty qualified for a Davis acceptance, but you never know…
