I was just accepted as an Economics major. Can anyone tell me anything about the economics program at UC Davis?
In terms of preparation, it’s pretty good. There are banks, businesses, and professors around offering internship experiences, and there’s a law school and Sacramento close by if you’re interested in government.
Downside is that the department intentionally sets the average GPA in undergraduate classes to a 2.7. From what I’ve heard, though, professors rarely have to manipulate grades to fit this ideal - the average grade in classes is just naturally usually a B-. So if you earned an A, you’ll get an A.
There’s also not a lot of recruitment out of UCD for non-engineering/bio. You have to hit the ground running to find internships and jobs, although they do maintain a good database and career center.
just wondering if you are a freshmen applicant? I myself am a transfer but I’m so anxious for results even though I have guaranteed admission through TAG
