That seems specific to your conditions of admission, mine state I need to uphold a 3.2 and receive no grade lower than a C.
I know they want us to send in our high school transcripts to confirm our high school graduation date, but it also says we need to report why we received any D’s or F’s at the bottom of the page. Is that for the high school transcripts or for our community college transcripts? I went to high school in 2002 and have no other explanation other than “I was a bad student and high school was over 10 years ago”. I thought High School grades didn’t affect our admission? It says at the bottom of the page under the list of transcripts UCD is awaiting:
Your final grades in each of our courses during the 12th grade or spring term.
Provide an explanation for any “D” or “F” grades and dropped courses, if applicable.
Its on myadmissions under transcripts/academic records
I see. It stated I have to get 2.8 on all transferrable work. My school doesnt offer + - so a C would put me at 2.0.
Im taking 21 units. Biology and Business Math are THE only classes I am worried about.
@“Danny Soprano” My wife and I don’t have kids, no, so I really hope there’s room for us at Solano Park because I’m sure they prioritize families with children. Did you put on-campus housing then on your fafsa?
@Tonsel No, it doesn’t say anything about CalGrant for me. Maybe they haven’t processed that yet? Although I’m thinking once they do, maybe they will adjust (AKA lower) the University Grant amount they’re offering me.
Mine basically says:
Fed Direct Subsidized Loan $5,000 <-(option to accept/decline)
Federal Pell Grant Program $3,000
University Campus Fee Grant $540
University Grant $23,000
all the grants have “Accepted on 20 April” as award status by default
I was just thinking about that “Accepted on April 20” date on all the awards, it says it on mine too. Then I looked back earlier in this thread when someone discovered that “trick” of logging into Student Billing, which was on April 20th.
@ananguiano yes i did. i have to contact them though. I was working on my application for student housing it i think thats for the dorms. I know there is a separate application for Solano park. i just need clarification. has anyone joined any uc davis transfer groups on facebook?
@“Danny Soprano” yeah, there’s a separate app for Solano Park, you need to get it off their website, fill it in, and mail it to them (no fax/email) along with proof of your family members, marriage cert., birth cert. etc and a check for $20
You can send that Solano Park app in anytime before admission so I sent mine in like a month ago and they emailed me a receipt when they got it.
@ananguiano
“Birth Cert” XD
@ananguiano On the application, its says to choose one: married student, student with children, and so on. i am both. Do you think i should check both? i have to call tomorrow to find out.
@“Danny Soprano” You should probably call them to go through it but I’m pretty certain you’d put student with a child and just list your wife as your additional adult occupant. Solano Park exists first and foremost to serve students with children so they get the most priority (see: http://housing.ucdavis.edu/apply/apply_parks.asp ) near the bottom of the page.
@ananguiano are they super strict with the conditions of admissions?
@“Danny Soprano” Conditions of admissions? What are you referring to exactly, do you still mean Solano Park?
@ananguiano no, sorry. i am referring to the requirements that we must meet for admissions.
I wish UCB would release admissions already. Why do they have to be special and wait until the 29th T_T
I want to SIR to Davis already but if I get in UCB, I might have to reconsider though I do not like the things I’ve read about Berkeley
I’m already super amped up to attend UCD. Its all I think about
Has anyone received an email from UCD that asks you to join them for the event called ‘Decision UC Davis’? They provide you with a free trip (round trip flights) to the campus; it is a great opportunity to get to know the school before SIR’ing. You will have an opportunity to explore the campus and meet admitted students!
I received this offer when I was admitted a few years back. It was great, but I ultimately did not SIR to Davis!
@UCLAFFF
What?? I haven’t received any email about that. I did see the event dates for it and stuff but I live too far. I’m already spending money to go to the orientation.
I hope they do that this year
@bolognese I am pretty sure they are doing it this year. My friend was admitted as a Global Disease Biology major and he said the email states it is invitation-based only which means you cannot request the opportunity.
ahhh I guess I’m not special enough
From what it says here ALL admitted students will get an email about it, I have yet to get one but that is what it says.
