UC DAVIS FALL 2019 TRANSFER THREAD

You can take it at another CCC. The app should recognize o-chem. However, you can also note in academic additional comments that it’s a repeat. If the app doesn’t show it as a repeat, they’ll deal with it manually.

Im sorry for all the questions. I appreciate your help a lot.

No problem.

Anyone applying for Viticulture?

Hi guys, I’m applying to transfer to UC Davis as a psychology major for next fall and I was just wondering what you think my chances are!

Stats:

3.67 GPA
Multiple psychology course, lowest grade was a B in lifespan psych.
I got an A in my statistics class and have also taken multiple Spanish classes in which I received A’s as well.

I am a part of my CC’s honor society and have done various volunteer work in the past such as helping my school district produce their summer school play for their enrichment program. I currently tutor both special needs and general education students while doing the occasional house sitting.

I am a non traditional student, I had my son at 18 and his father and I are married. He is currently enlisted in the military so I have been raising him on my own since birth.

I know I do not have a lot of extracurriculars in the traditional “clubs and sports” sense, but I have been raising my son alone while maintaining a GPA I’m proud of and working.

Thank you all so much for your time!

I have a question. This semester I’m taking 11 units at my main CC and the other 3 at a different CC. Therefore, I’m a full-time student. Do I need to be full time at my main CC or can they be split between other CCs?

@Ohm888

Major: English (Back up: Spanish)
UC GPA: 3.2
Overall GPA: 3.16
After Spring: I’m hoping a 3.3 :frowning:
TAG: Yes- UCSB
IGETC: Completed
Pre-Reqs: Completed just working on recommended course work
Also applying to: UCSB, UCR, UCI, mayyyyyybe UCLA lol
EC: I’ve been working since graduating high school, I currently work 3 jobs that involve 2 retail jobs and working at a middle school as an AVID tutor, I also have a side gig tutoring a 5th grade student in English because he just moved from Mexico, I was diagnosed with cancer after my second year of CC so one of my essays will touch basis on that

I’m asking this because of my TAG. This is the only reason my TAG could be denied. So do I have to be full-time at the same CC or can my units be split between other CCs and still be considered full-time.

@Ohm888

@Mahed24 units can be split between CCCs. It won’t affect TAG.

@mahed24 I’m only taking 10 units this semester and I talked to a Davis rep directly and they said it shouldn’t matter since in my TAG I explained why. If you explained your situation in your TAG I don’t think it will affect anything.
Either way we’ll find out tomorrow!

@tinedancer I’m not taking less than 12 units. I have 14 units total. It’s just that all the units aren’t from the same CC.

@Ohm888 I’m actually nervous that they’re going to deny my TAG because I wasn’t full-time at my primary CCC.

@Mahed24 I understand that, and what I’m saying is that not being full time at your primary CC shouldn’t matter if you explained why, being the fact that you’re splitting your units between two different school.

All you have to be is full-time. It’s not based on the primary college.

I had applied for TAG as a biological sciences major for UC Davis with a 3.60 GPA and had everything done and am finishing the chem series,and math series this fall but just started bio series this fall and was gonna finish in spring. However it doesn’t seem as if i will be able to pass bio 101A this fall. How will this effect my tag? If i drop bio 101A and take it in spring will my tag still be accepted or do i have to finish the series. Also do i have to have the bio series finished to transfer for normal admission as a biological sciences major or can i take it at Davis.

Davis bio says the biology courses are required for the major so you will lose TAG and likely not get admitted in regular enrollment.

That’s what i thought too. What if i applied under the college of agricultural and Environmental Sciences. It says i just need one course from the bio series done, so if i were to finish one in spring i would be eligible wouldn’t I?
