UC DAVIS/ PSYCH MAJOR

Hello,
I am a student at a California Community College. I am a psych major. Currently my GPA including everything I have taken is a 2.15 (includes 1 F) without the F it would be a 2.50. I am planning to make up that F in the Fall semester, and have now quit my job so that I can dedicate myself into getting A’s this upcoming educational year. I was very busy with work before because I needed to help my parents out. SO for my courses I have taken almost ALL my IGETC classes. I have 2 more that also satisfy the major requirements. This next year I have all the classes I need for the major planned out to finish by the Spring of 2016. I know I can raise my GPA to a 3.20 by the time I transfer. The only class I have completed so far for my Major is PSYCH 1 which I received a C in. So would I be able to submit a tag? And if not is there anything I can do to be able to? Thank you guys in Advance!!! <3
Overall GPA: 3.20
Course Group GPA: 2.90 at time of TAG

One of these 2 options:
(1) Biological Sciences 2A -OR-
(2) Biological Science 10 -AND - one course from:
Anthropology 1 -OR-
Molecular and Cellular Biology 10 -OR- Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior 10

I’m pretty sure you’re ineligible unless I’m misinterpreting your post. Psych 1 should have been completed with a B.

“Have already achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 2.90 for the courses from the group above that have been completed before submitting the UC TAG Application, e.g. if one course from the group is completed at the time the TAG is submitted, that course must be completed with a B grade or higher.”

I’m a little confused, how did we go from “my GPA including everything I have taken is a 2.15” to “Overall GPA 3.2”?

@luckie1367 I think that’s what they’re hoping they’ll have by the time they transfer out.

I also fail to see how he went from a 2.15 to a 2.90. You need to have a 2.90 to be eligible at the time of application, which he won’t have.

You need to have at least a 3.2 GPA already when you submit the TAG for Psych majors at Davis.

You also can not have an F on your transcript when you submit your TAG to Davis. If you’re going to make up the class you got an F in, it will still show up as an F when they look over your TAG since you plan on making up the class in the Fall and your new grade won’t be on your transcript until after the Fall semester is over - which is after the deadline for TAGs.
