UC Davis Transfer Fall 2018--Discussion Post

@SoCalx83 lol don’t say that you have same chance as any of us. Who knows what it boils down to when they’re deciding. If I don’t get into UCLA or USC it’s between Davis and SB. So far, Davis has put big bags of money in my lap. Which is my second favorite thing I like near my lap. We should round up all the gays and lesbians on this thread and go together to visit SB. SB takeover. Lmao

@goodBrujo9 lol bi bro here. Totally down for something like that. Oh and because of my parents’ financial standing, im not really getting bags of money lol…

@SoCalx83 your parents should be ashamed of themselves for not being poor so u can benefit from grant money. Lol. The UCLA thread is talking about the 25th for decisions and since I know you are going to kick SB to the curb if u get in, let’s wait till then and decide. Then we can make plans. I’ve never visited UCLA campus either.

@goodBrujo9 im anticipating it lol. Lets totally take a fieldtrip to ucla. Been there once, not as big as i thought

Current UCSB undergrad rejected for Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior
GPA: 3.94

Worth it to appeal? I’ve been eyeing Davis since high school :frowning:

@qthatneedsana with a GPA that high i’d recommend it!

Did anyone go to picnic day today?

@DanielLB I did!

@ohbeebee NICE! Did good you have a good time? What was it like? I can’t wait to visit Davis. : )

I went! It’s right next to my town so i decided to go! it was pretty cool. They had a lot of farmer stuff and interesting things to look at in their science buildings. The welcome center though didn’t have much for transfers, just brand new freshman people but i’ll def be back for a tour and other transfer information soon!

@DanielLB it was really fun! The weather was perfect, lots of booths and entertainment, saw the parade and the cockroach races lmao. I had already visited the campus once before and I enjoyed it that time as well. it’s easy to get around because it’s all flat and there’s quite a few new buildings, including brand new dorms. Definitely a focus in the biological sciences with all the plants and animals stuff but I think it’s kinda cool, they were giving out free plants and they had a petting zoo and horse drawn carriages and stuff. I was expecting the event to just be a bunch of drunk college students but it turned out to be an all ages type of thing.

Late lol, but admitted!

Major: Anthropology
GPA: 3.6
IGETC: Complete
Pre-Reqs: Complete
Admitted: Ucsc, Ucsb, Ucd, Sjsu, Sfsu.
Waiting: Ucla, Ucb, Cornell, Stanford

@ericbadmon sorry, i didnt see this till now. I submitted it on the day of the deadline, tuesday? the 17th

Also late, but surprised I was admitted!

Major: Managerial Economics
GPA: 2.90 (Yes, under a 3)
IGETC: Completed
Pre-Reqs: Completed by spring
Admitted: UCSC, UCD
Waitlisted: UCSB for Econ and Acc.
Rejected: none so far
Pending: UCI, UCSD

I was extremely surprised to receive my acceptance email, especially considering my lower GPA for the major I picked which is supposed to be highly impacted. However, my major GPA was around ~3.7? Also, my personal statements were good. For anyone that has a low GPA applying in the future for Man Econ. I suggest you complete all of the pre-reqs (there’s quite a lot compared to other UC’s Econ/business pre-reqs) and do extremely well in them to overlook your overall GPA. Anything is possible!

My friend goes to UC davis and is a veteran he said that veteran transfers get priority registration after the first quarter

I wanted to do the Admitted Student Tour this weekend, but they’re all booked. I called and the guy said I can still attend the tour, I just need to show up 15minutes early to sign up. Can anyone confirm this?

does anyone know when people will receive acceptance letters in the mail?

Hi there! totally new here, got in and the email for regents, but haven’t heard anything about acceptances or denies. Does anyone know if they’re still rolling out? My decision for attending or not is dependent on that…

@kyaarin I’m in the same boat. Has anyone contacted the scholarships office? I wanted to today but I got home from school around 5:30 which is past their office hours.

@ohbeebee I called them earlier, around 1PM when I have a 30 minute gap between classes but I didn’t get an answer. I left a message, but I’m gonna call again tomorrow. I neeeeed to know.
