I wanted to know what happens if I accept my offer of admission to UC Davis but in the same time, I’m appealing to Berkeley. Would my appeal be automatically revoked?

Thanks in advance!

No. The rule is that one should not send in an SIR for more than one UC at a time. An appeal is different, and since there is no guarantee that an appeal would be successful, it would be prudent to have a firm backup plan in place.

Oh okay, just wanted to make sure...thank you! :)

sorry, i also have a question. does the UC you appeal to know if you sent in a SIR already?

I can't see how. I'm pretty sure UCs don't correspond with one another about such matters.

I don't think the SIR makes much of a difference. If it does, I'm going to kill someone because I already signed an SIR for UCI for backup reasons (appealed to UCD).

UCs do correspond to one another at times. I called the UCSD admissions to see how many points I had, and they recommended me to go to a UC that accepted me. The representative paused awhile and then said, "Oh you got into UCI. You should go there."

GL with your Berkeley appeal. I'm waiting for a UCD appeal myself. I seriously hope I get it.

Thanks jas0n :)

I hope you get into UCD! I've noticed some of your posts and you do seem very passionate to get in there! Good luck and let us know what happens.

hmkb

Ya if you are granted an appeal to Berkeley then you can revoke your SIR to Davis or keep your SIR to Davis.

Good Luck on your Appeal!!!!

Thanks you guys...I really appreciate it :) Just one more question though...does anyone know when appeal decisions usually come out for Berkeley or the other UC's? It says that they'll start posting decisions beginning on May 1st but that it's not guaranteed that I'll know by then...Does anyone know when they usually post decisions (May 1st or usually later on)? Thanks again!
