UC Davis Vs. Other Vet schools

UC Davis is my dream school. However, I only have A’s B’s and probably barely make a C- in math. That may sound good for some but not good enough to beat the UC Davis standards. If it doesn’t work out for me I was wondering for those who have done research on other veterinary schools, besides Davis, are there any other vet. schools that come close to Davis that are in CA?

Pretty sure Davis is the only vet school in California. That's why it's so competitive.

Yeah but are there other smaller colleges that may give you an intro. to vet medicine then you can transfer to Davis? And is it easier to transfer to UC Davis from another college so you're not competing with the oncoming freshmen?

you could make up for your low grades with high SAT scores...

One thing that can be a bit of a shock to people is the rigorous academic pressures when you first start at UCD (independent of whether you come in as a freshman or junior). Most professional schools figure a little dip in grades is normal for an incoming freshman but are less "understanding" of transfer students when (or if) their grades drop. If you are hard working and adaptable to more difficult testing and grading environment, then you will probably be fine but if you are inclined to include a little investigation of your new college surroundings (translation: a little too much partying), your grades (and standing for professional school might be compromised) because you won't have as long or as many courses to help raise your gpa. Also, professional schools are more likely to put greater weight on the last school attended (or the more academically challenging school) at some point in the admissions process so if you have a great gpa at the old school but not so hot at UCD, you might have problems gaining admission.
