which one is the more distinguished college? in 2010, which college will everyone want to attend?

Davis for sure. Their ranking is low this year cuz their secretary was ****ed up and sent wrong numbers to US News (64% of proffesors had graduate degree, instead of real 98%).

hmm, there was this exact post in the irvine thread and guess what they said? I think the answers are going to be utterly baised towards whatever school you post this in. In my opinon, both are great Schools, facts screwed up or not, the two schools are very close in rankings and overall academics. Why not just visit the campuses and personally rank it yourself.

in my opinion, currently both schools are equally good. but the thing is that irvine is a lot better than it used to be. it really grew over the past few years. davis is just entering it's real growth years. i hear they are getting more money due to the football team. so davis will definately move wayy up in ratings while i believe irvine will stay about the same or go up a little. so in the future i think davis will be more recognized and sought after. however, i'm no fortune teller and my assumptions are based on what other people who post on this site have told me. but it's something to take into consideration. i, myself, have to decide between the two but i see myself at davis being much better off than irvine.

Davis = college town w/D1 football team
Irvine = commuter school w/no football team
hmmmmmmmn

if you post this here chances are you will hear davis and vice versa. heh, i'm having a hard time deciding between the two too. right now i guess i'm leaning more towards ucd since it's a lot closer to home. take location into consideration.

i think davis is "too" close to home

i live in san jose; davis being "too" close is a great thing :O. go norcal!

i also live in san jose
