UC Davis vs UC San Diego for computer science??

I’ve been accepted to both UCD and UCSD (thurgood marshall) for the computer science major but I am having difficulty in deciding which school I would rather go to. I currently have little to no experience in computer science and my family is much closer to UCD than UCSD. Any advice??

I’d say UCSD has a marginally better reputation for CS, but they’re both good. If you’d rather stay closer to UCD, go to UCD. You won’t have a problem getting a job if you go to either of those schools.

Either is fine if you have direct admission to the CS major. If you do not have direct admission to the CS major at one or both, be aware that getting into the CS major may require a high college GPA, particularly at UCSD, where recent admission thresholds to declare the CS major were 4.0 and 3.9, according to https://cse.ucsd.edu/undergraduate/admissions/capped-major-status .

UCD’s criteria are here:
