UC Davis Waitlist 2021

They have to inform us this week, rejection or not. June 1st was the deadline they wanted to stick to…

Anyone considering going the TAG route even though they’ve been accepted to other great 4 year universities in order to get to Davis?

Well… I guess getting waitlisted at all was a nice gesture…

I have been told by admissions that they do not send out rejection letters at all, but only post the final decisions on the portal.

I emailed today, she said
“Before making a decision, the office of admissions will review your 200-word statement, as well as the fall grades and spring coursework-in-progress that must be submitted as part of your waitlist acceptance. Keep in mind that receiving a fail grade (D or F) can negatively affect our decision. Also, Admission offers from the waitlist will be released until June 30 via email and MyAdmissions” so June 1st deadline isn’t the deadline anymore.

Nice to see that UCD is making a wholehearted effort at keeping their applicants updated as early as two days before their decision deadline.

I just spoke to admissions and the person who answered the phone said that her supervisor advised her, that they will be sending out a few more acceptances soon. She did not know how many or when. Good luck to us all

Hahahahaha

This is honestly such a learning experience for me. I learned what’s important and what’s not, what’s worth trying for and what’s not, but most important, I learned that the educational system is biased, unfair, and rigged. And no life lesson such as this one will be more of an eye opener, I will use what I learned and apply them to friends, family, and if nothing changes, my own kids. It’s really shame that colleges look so heavily on a few test scores rather than factors such as overcoming personal adversity or even how hard they worked to get what they got. Maybe a student got an average standardized test score, but that doesn’t show the hours of sleep he/she lost nor the weekends they gave up to study. Not UC Davis specifically but just in general. Truly a shame.

Thank you,

@waitlistedsloth I agree completely.

Seriously can’t believe that we might not even know till June 30th. Because of this waitlist, I feel like I can’t fully emotionally commit to any school which makes having enthusiasm for university quite difficult. While everyone else is wearing their college gear and joining facebook groups I feel hopelessly out of place.

I’m telling you acceptance is the first stage. Never thought I’d say it but…

Go highlanders.

Wow I was hoping UCD would tell me by tomorrow so I wouldn’t pay for orientation and housing twice if I got in.

I wouldn’t even want to wait until the end of June. I already started preparing to register for classes in my local cc. I’d rather save some money and transfer later than risk waiting any longer. Good luck everyone and don’t miss out on anything important!

@waitlistedsloth

Well said. Totally agree with you.

The June 30 deadline is only for transfers, freshman undergraduates will receive answer by June 1st.

. . . although from looking at last year’s thread it looked like a few freshmen did come off the waitlist between June 1 and June 23rd. It would be good to have closure on June 1. But if it takes a few more weeks then, in the long run, it would be worth it to me. I’m thinking that because of the huge UC enrollments this year the waitlists are less flexible? For instance, UC Irvine closing its waitlist after taking little to no one off . . . that was really harsh. Didn’t expect that.

Did UCLA let anyone in off of the wait list?

Did anyone get accepted today?

i still haven’t heard…

Still nothing for me…

Maybe we’ll hear something before 5pm since that’s when their admissions office closes.
