<p>I am an incoming freshmen to UCSD. I have not just satisfy the UC Writing Requirenment and i have some questions about it. </p>
<p>I was wondering if I could take a local SD community college English 101 course that is UC transferable during FALL (I am away over the summer) and satisfy the requirements that way? </p>
<p>How will the credits from the college be counted? GE credits towards UCSD or something else?</p>

<p>there is a course that you can take at ucsd… SDCC, which is a sd city college class but its on campus and you’d take it with other ucsd students.
I think that they would rather have you take SDCC, even though you have to retake the exam at the end of quarter… than for you take english 101 or something on your own.</p>
<p>So I also failed the AWPE, and I’m currently waiting until July 1st to check my AP English Lit score (most likely got a 2, I think… at most a 3).</p>
<p>I am in Marshall College so I have to take DOC writing program. However, I am stuck in SDCC 1 for a quarter. Will this mean that I can’t take DOC#1 the first quarter? But as soon as second quarter comes, will I be able to take DOC#2 and DOC#3 for third quarter? As for DOC#1, can I take it fall quarter of 2010?</p>

<p>You cant take any writing courses while you’re taking SDCC until you pass that class and exam…</p>
<p>So yes you wont be able to take doc1. I’m in warren so I don’t really know how doc works… they offer both of warren’s writing courses every quarter… However my roommate had to take sdcc winter, (she’s in revelle) so she wasnt able to take hum1 (winter) either, however during spring quarter, she talked her way into letting them let her take hum2, which she did. </p>
<p>I’m guessing that you could also talk your way into doc2 cos no one wants to fall behind a whole year… </p>

says that you all you need is to satisfy the UC entry level writing requirement to take doc2, doc3 and of course doc1…
so doc1 isnt a prereq for doc2 or 3 I’m assuming?

<p>They dont limit doc1 to only 1st years I hope so yeah they’ll probably let you take it fall next year.</p>
<p>I just confirmed that I can take SDCCI (Basic Writing) concurrently with DOC#1. =] Yaaay.</p>

<p>i went to that site but what am I suppose to do in that site? all i see is all the requirements i need… do i have to contact someone to notify that i have satisfied?</p>
<p>^^^email one of the counselors in academic advising, by Aug 17 your status will be updated I guess but one email won’t bite.</p>
