So after commuting to UCLA for summer I found that I can't take the commute and committed to live in an apartment for Fall onward. Problem is, that on my FAFSA I had indicated that I was a commuter for UCLA. Anyway the financial aid office said I had to submit a housing change form to get more aid.

Has anyone done this? And will this increase how much in grants I get or will it increase how much loans I can get or how much work study?

Additional info: EFC = $9,663
I've only been given $3,100 in grants, $1,500 in work study and the rest in loans.

I’m commuting from Torrance. Which is 20 min away in Sunday traffic. But factor in getting through Wilshire, the long walk to or from the parking lot, it takes 2hrs for me to get home. Not a good thing when I’m working on campus, doing research and a life science major…
