UC GPA application.

Hi there, I'm looking to see what I can do to transfer to a UC in the Fall/2013.
My GPA, due to some issues last semester, is low right now. I however have calculated that with the classes I'm taking now, and the grade I expect to earn in them, my GPA will be more than okay by the end of this fall semester. So, would I get in trouble for reporting grades for classes I haven't finished? As in, it's November 15, the last day to submit my application. I know i'll be getting a B in math, so put a B on the application to boost GPA. Is that wrong?

If you put your fall grades ahead of time in your application then what are you going to report/update when they ask you to update your app in jan/feb? I would say no because you might get banned from UCs system for life plus they are not stupid. Do it at your own risk.

this is the order for most applicants.
fall as in processing, winter and spring are planned.

You can if you want, but it’s essentially an ALL risk and NO reward situation. The UC’s don’t start evaluations until after your January update, when you’re expected to update your application with your Fall grades. Considering that they likely won’t even see your UC GPA prior to the January update, to most people it would seem completely unnecessary to take such a gamble. However, if whatever moral boost you get out of knowing on that on your UC application your listed GPA is higher than it actually is currently; and if that’s worth possibly getting your application flagged for providing false information if god-forbid something happens and your grades don’t end up what you expect, then go for it.

Don’t do it.

What about an 8 week class? I’m currently enrolled in one and it’ll end on the 20th. I’ll have my grade by the time the app is ready to be submitted. Should I list it as IP anyway and just update it in January with the grade?

They will know immediately that you’re lying. No CCC gets done with Fall by November.

Except I’m not lying. The class really does end on October 20. It’s 8 weeks. It’s in the syllabus and also in the catalog. I think I’m still going to list it as IP and update it with a grade in January.

^ I was referring to the OP. You can list your grade if it’s a short class and they post your grades before the deadline.

The application deadline is the 30th of November.
