I've always had a question about whether UC's primarily look at only sophomore and junior year grades, or also freshman. I know on their website, they say sophomore and junior but I just want to make sure. The transition from middle to high school was pretty rough for me, and a lot of my peers, and i ended up getting 9 A's and 3 B's. Sophomore year I got 11 A's and 1 B, and hopefully next year my upward trend continues and I get a 4.0. I couldnt take any honors/AP freshman year also, and could only take one this year, which is why I'm worried about freshman year gpa. Any help would be nice.

Any opinions or thoughts? I’ve always worried that I wont be accepted to like UCB or UCLA because of my freshman year.

Short answer: the UC GPA does not include freshman grades. For advice on how to calculate your UC GPA, head to the UC admissions website. Once you calculate your projected UC GPA, you can look at the detailed freshman profiles to see how your GPA stacks up.
