UC(i) Summer courses

How many units is normal to take during 1 summer session? I will have to move to wherever I go, so moving for a 2 day 4-unit class seems kinda wasteful. I could add another class and take it P/NP, but then I would be taking 11.5 units during 1 summer session. That is too much I assume....I am confused

10 units is the max you can take per summer session. I’m taking 8 per summer session and think that is enough. You can always work on campus or off as well to pay rent etc

Where did you get the 10 unit max from? It says 6-8 is considered a full load, but I don’t see where it tells you, you can only take 10 units.

I’m planning on taking 14 (5 for the first session, and 9 for the second session).

Are you sure you can do summer session I as a transfer student? It pretty much starts a week after spring quarter ends. I don’t think you’ll be able to finalize your admission (sending final transcripts, etc.) in time. But I guess it depends on how early your CC ends its spring semester?

I said 10 per summer session. If you need to take more than 10 ofcourse, you can write a letter to request it.
So you’re good either way. And we’d only have to pay for 8 units (yay!)

All UC’s have open enrollment during summer session, so you can sign up for classes even if you’re not accepted at a UC.

However, you do get cheaper fees if you’re a UC student, so it’d be wise to hold out until you get your uc__ student id number.

Thank you for the link!

When do we get a uc id number?

It says on the decision website. For ucla, it’d hidden in the top right corner. It’s the same for UCI, but it’s visible.

I think you need to be accepted first…UCLA for sure since they didn’t show anything until I was accepted, but UCI’s page was pretty much the same minus some dorky looking banner.
