@DPattt I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong about it being for rejects. But I just have a feeling that it’s not a good sign. It is definitely strange and I wish that this whole process was just more direct and transparent.
It definitely isn’t a newsletter; i assumed it was another “thanks for applying” email such as that we received after applying to the university, but then wouldnt that be sent to everyone? We shall see if there is any correlation between the letter and admissions if uci ever decides to send them out. Good luck everyone!
I got that letter and email. I highly doubt it means anything at all. I read it 4 times now and watched the video twice. It seems like nothing.
Now I’m even more nervous. I’m praying for my acceptance.
Didn’t get that letter, I do agree with everything being vague. Can’t tell if Irvine is organized in their admissions like the other UC’s judging from previous years’ thread and with how this year seems to be going as well.
A student at a neighboring highschool posted his UCI acceptance via snapchat for CS, if I am not mistaken, which makes me really nervous as well.
@reducto what are the initials of student just out of curiousity to see if it correlates.
Our final guess occurs tomorrow. 17th to the 21st in batches. Let’s all hope they actually release them tomorrow, and that we’ll all be happy with the decisions!
I feel like we’re all bonding by stressing over the release of these decisions haha. Strong connections before we even, hopefully, go to school together next year! Good luck everyone!

I applied to UCLA with 112,000 other people, 88,000 doesnt seem so bad from my point of view O_o

Quick question, is UCI seen as ‘easier to get into’ as opposed to SB and Davis?
UCI is I think generally easier, but still about as competitive as SB. I think a bit less competitive than Davis.
If you’re really worried right now (all of us basically), just try to imagine how happy you will be when you click that sign in button and it says “CONGRATULATIONS!” And don’t EVER loose hope because it’s the only thing that keeps us mortals going. Losing hope is like losing your life.There is ALWAYS hope. The only things that change are the expectations that we have for ourselves. So have confidence in yourself and view yourself as a future anteater even before you become one!!! Why not?!! This fear and anxiety only makes the end result that much better. So maybe we just need to change our attitudes and start thanking UCI instead of complaining.
