Irvine’s 2019 thread is bigger than any of the other UC’s, and decisions haven’t even come out. Just goes to show how crazy the ambiguity in their decisions is making some people (me).
I applied for financial aid at UCI as an independent student. I received an email requesting “proof of independence for scholarship purposes”. Has anyone else, past or present applicants, received this? And is it any indication of admission?
Tbh we should all be admitted since we are the only people who are really interested enough to do all this lol

@Quitragin, I got something similar, but it was about proof of citizenship. It may be, or it may not be an indication. Who knows with UCI?
UCI the only campus that has me checking my portal every hour, even though i think i’ll get regected. So far have only been accepted to UCSC (electrical engineering) and UC Merced for mechanical engineering. Rejected from UCSD mechanical engineering.
Good luck to everyone don’t let a rejection get you down. A friend was rejected from cal poly pomona’s engineering program but got into UCSDs Engineering School (even got a call from them).
UCI is my top choice school so I really want to get in. However I just found out YESTERDAY that Business Administration (my first major) is the most affected major in this school. And saw few hours ago that number of applicants this year rises incredibly high (88,000). So now I’m feeling like shit. UCR here I come~

I’m scared…a lot of UCs are out already and Im counting on UCI…I love the school but this is ridiculous
At least with USC I know to avoid my portal until the 27th, but I always have that small sliver of hope that says it might be today. And since I’m on break this week, I have nothing better to do OTL

Guys, all the worrying & checking your portals will change nothing. I guarentee you, UCI already knows the results. They are what they’re going to be. They’re sapping your joy! This process sucks & I refuse to give it any more of my energy. Whether I find out in an hour, 24 hours, or in 3 days, I’m not going to let UCI (or any other school) affect the outcome of my future. Screw them!!! I will succeeded despite them all !!!
