***UC Irvine Class of 2019 Admissions Results/Stats Discussion***

@TheGoods2015‌ I agree with you, screw them! Even though it’s my dream school, I still have other valuable offers.

@inam36‌ Well, the portal of UCSC was available 10 minutes before the release of their decisions.

I wouldnt think so @inam36‌ , since UCI is releasing in batches, they can upload descisions without having to close the portal

@imjennah This is so frustrating…

Anyone received non chp yet?

@Luigi0928, a friend of friend’s message can be changed a lot from the truth.

@math2015‌ ive only heard of a few people recieving acceptances on twitter

why dont you guys just relax and wait until they release and chill out. You guys put stress on yourselves, its not UCI that’s the problem with their release process. Yeah, batch releases are pretty dumb but you have to learn to accept the reality and just do something with your time

Relax and chill out? Lol not possible.

Did anyone hear from uci nursing?

i found two people who got accepted on 13th and 14th on twitter… so does that mean that i will at the end get rejected…?:frowning:

Relax and chill out? I have my mid-term exams this week, and I’m spending more time on this forum than studying… ~X(

Wow! Waiting for decisions is fun!!! Said no one…ever!!!

@Quitragin and @ fizzman, the Financial Aid process is completely different and separate from the admissions process, so I don’t think there is any correlation. If you are under 24 years of age (I believe) they require that you submit your parents’ financial information unless you are an orphan or you have become legally emancipated. I have a niece that has been living on her own since age 18 and has been required to submit her parents’ financial information regardless and has not been allowed to declare to be an independent student. Her income is low because she works part-time and is a full-time student, so they don’t believe she is on her own. She shares a one bedroom apartment with two others and she cooks, cleans, and does everyone’s laundry in exchange for a lesser share of the rent. So she manages–but Financial Aid still does not allow her to apply as independent and every year she has to hunt down her parents (who live in separate cities) to get their tax returns. :frowning:

If you think this is frustrating, check out the Cal Poly SLO 2019 thread. They SLOWLY released admissions over a period of one week. It was intense!

The “Class of 2018” thread had more than 90 pages of discussion. Decisions came out at around the 60th page… UCI is not really efficient on managing applications - or, as someone said, it’s all about marketing.

Omg I would have died if I applied to Cal Poly. That sounds like absolute TORTURE

Cal Poly was bad!! It took them about a week to get out all the acceptances. So far, the only school my daughter was not accepted, engineering…oh well - she has other great options!!

Oh My God. Applied to cal poly slo for computer engineering. It was a torturous wait. When I got my rejection, I was actually happy.

@crossfire123 - it was a relief to finally have an answer, any answer!!!

For the records, last year (according to the “Class of 2018” thread):
-The first batch came out on March 17th and there were mostly acceptances.
-The second batch came out on March 20th and there were many wait-listings.
-The first rejection was posted on March 21st.
