UC Personal statement #2...

So my first personal statement for the UC application is pretty much done. The second essays prompt is:

"Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?"

Originally, I was going to write about being promoted to Corporal in the Marine Corps. But, im having trouble with it, so im thinking about changing my topic to a talent, bodybuilding...I can make a very good essay with either topic, but which do you think will be more impressive, I guess? Or maybe more unique.

I know, bodybuilding doesnt sound like a talent, it just sounds like someone who goes to the gym, but a dedicated bodybuilder has so many aspects to it...

Thoughts?

Any body?!

Well, both topics are equally good. However, you intrigued me by saying that a dedicated bodybuilder has many aspects to himself/herself. If you can show this subtlety through your essay, it can make for a good read!

It depends on how you choose to word your answer. Even a topic as innocuous as bodybuilding can be made interesting by using a unique writing style. If you are truly passionate about it, then go ahead. :)

yeah that sounds good…
